  1. Just import the audio files. If who your getting the PT from has the OMF option maybe they can send you OMF.
  2. Did you do a PRAM reset after installing the drive so the Mac hardware knows there is something new?
  3. I would bring your physical RAM up to 4GB. Look at all the virtual memory your using swapping in and out of virtual memory chews up CPU and adds delays. A program like Logic is making the CPU do a lot of context switching and your adding to its workload with move virtual memory swaps.
  4. Applications need to sometimes be modified, but definitely need to be recompiled with 64-bit tools. So I would say it all depends on how 64-bit ready the current code base is and al the libraries it has to link to.

    Logic & Ram

4 GB physical RAM and 4 GB virtual that is the OS X default per application or process.
  6. not sure about Logic, but a trick i have used is to go buy a set of 12 strings, put the low strings on one guitar and then and then the high strings on another guitar. can be really cool sounding. Back in my session days that was called Nashville tuned guitar. Mine and others I knew of were acoustics. Another variation I liked was 9-string electric guitar. Bottom three strings normal and then top three string doubled strings like a 12-string. As someone else mentioned find a Danelectro 12-string aren't too expensive and sound good.
  7. That sound more like a memory leak in software. If you reboot after the two hours are things good again? That would likely be a leak, if not then maybe CPU heat issue.
  8. I would say install Logic and use it for a week to make sure it is all good. Then install your other package. If you install both at basically the same time and have a problem you will add to the frustration trying to figure out which was the source of the problem.
  9. A bigger problem with 64-bit is we'll get lots of sloppy written programs. I used to work for one of the compiler companies and remember the move from 16-bit to 32-bit and how programmers stopped focusing on carefully managing memory in their app's and looks at memory as unlimited, some really bad apps for years causing a mess. So give developers 64-bit of memory to use it will be a huge mess for a few years.
  10. Great, I want wipe a drive and do a fresh install of OS X and L9 and rather not have to install L8 first.
  11. Anyone know how the upgrade works. Do you need LP8 installed to upgrade, or do you just need the LP8 reg info.
  12. You keep saying Cat5 that is network cable with RJ45 connectors, are you using an IP based KVM? Check out markertek.com they have gender menders and all sorts of AV supplies.
  13. Why not get a Mini-DVI to SVGA adapter or a Mini-DVI to full size DVI. Extension cables for both of those aren't that hard to find.
  14. All OS'es setup how much memory they will allocate to each process. OS X allocate 4 physical and 4 virtual to each process. So Logic get its 4/4 your other app's get their 4/4 and so on.
