Hi, i know there are a lot of system overload threads in this forum…but i've something now i couldn't find on this forum.
Yesterday i had a tracking session for drums and all went find…tracked 10 tracks at the same time and did several takes at relative small buffer size 128k
Some how i messed things up (opened another session with different sample rate without changing the external clock) and had to restart Logic Pro X. Since then i get System Overloads (-10010) every time at several places in the project.
There are only 15 audio tracks at 48khz with NO plugins.
I tried several thing (bounce tracks to get rid of the takes etc), with no luck….
Then i tried to change my firewire chaining…i've got 1 firewire 800 port and 2 external drives and the firewire audio interface.
Nothing helped….until i copied the session to the other firewire drive….no problems. Even on a external USB drive no problems. The IO meter spikes when i start playback, drops down and stays low.
Still the session loaded from my original recording drive still gives overloads….can i say now that my drive is gone? Or can i reformat it? It's a 2 TB drive with 1.6 TB available.
The other external drives (FireWire or USB) are 3 TB en same percentage full/empty, and those work fine.
Is there some thing i can do (other than make a backup of my recordings while i still can…)??
