  1. I just loaded Gospel Ensemble+ into a Channel Strip. All I hear are the "Aahs". I can see in the EXS24 editor > Groups there is also Uu, Oo and Mm. But how do I access/play those other samples? Mod wheel and Velocity do nothing even if I assign them to Sample Select. I even tried creating a Smart Control and assigning buttons, but still no luck. (I don't have room on my Layout for Smart Control anyway) Tried assigning buttons and faders to Articulation ID in the Inspector window. Still nothing. Tried creating a new concert with only Gospel Ensemble+ Nothing What am I missing? Is there a tutorial on Articulations within the "+" instruments specifically for MainStage? I just want to be able to switch sample groups (oohs, aahs, Mmms) without having to create separate EXS instruments for each one. Thanks, Stewart
  2. I hope y'all don't mind a rookie question, but how do you "move" one multisample from one EXS24 drum kit to another? Let's say I liked the cowbell and Cabasa from the Latin Kit (because of the different tonalities at different velocities) but I wanted to export those to another EXS24 instrument, like the Snaps & Claps performance. Is there a way to drag-n-drop the whole cowbell or cabasa "group" from one EXS24 to the other? What I've tried so far is dragging the Cowbell_consolidated.caf file from the Finder into the Edit window. What I get is a long continuous recording of different cowbell samples that doesn't play immediately. What I was expecting was multiple cowbell samples on one note that sound different at different velocities. (like they do in the Drum kit) And when you do drag audio into the Edit window, does it go in the Zones column on the left OR in the main editing window? I think I'm missing some simple but crucial step. Thanks in advance
  3. What I’ve done so far is delete ALL articulations, except for Sustain and Growl (triggered by Velocity) That seems to be working (And saving consistently) I’ll try bringing them in one at a time and testing.
  4. I thought of that. Troubleshooting 101, right? But won’t all my sounds, samples and custom exs instruments be stored at the user level? In ~/user/Music and ~/user/Library/Application Support instead of at the root level? Don’t remember if I mentioned this before, but I’ve had the issue in other Concerts.
  5. No MIDI FX Got the patch working and saved in all three places like you said, with new names. Closed and reopened. Problem returns. For testing purposes, if I reload the newly saved .pst, .cst or .exs the problem goes away. But that's to be expected. It just doesn't stay fixed. Even just switching to another patch and back, the problem returns. Thanks for sticking with me on this. My only recourse is going back to the Garageband horns.
  6. I don't know how to get to the sample editor when the Studio Horns Smart Controls pop up, but the instance where the EXS24 pops up, none of the 1shot boxes are ticked in the editor. If I change the instrument to anything else within the EXS and then BACK to the (in this case) Baritone sax, the problem goes away. So I Save, Quit and reopen. Problem is back.
  7. I'm still not getting it. Rather, I'm still getting "stuck" notes when playing Studio Horns. (When I say "stuck", I mean the sample plays from beginning to end, regardless of taking finger off the note) Sometimes late at night, I think I've got it working right and then Save. When I reopen the Concert, the issue comes back. It doesn't happen in ALL instances. Here is a screen shot of TWO side-by-side windows of the Articulation Editor "Switches" tab from different Patches. The one on the left is from a patch that consistently works as expected. The one on the right, the notes play the whole sample. Note that they're both using the SAME "Just a Test" Articulation profile. One works, one doesn't. (I didn't include a side-by-side shot of the Articulations tab, but they are also identical) Also note that Midi Remote is OFF for both. What am I missing? Please send help! PS In a Horns channel strip that I create from the Channel Strip Inspector > Studio Horns; if I click on Channel Strip > Input > Horns...SOMEtimes the EXS24 opens and other times opens the Studio Horns Smart Controls. No idea why that happens. Is it related?
  8. Help please! I've got THREE audio interfaces and can't get ANY of them to simultaneously take an external audio signal (a clavinet Duo) into a Mainstage channel strip AND send an output to a DI or headphones out. Behringer has no phone or chat support (maybe that’s why their prices are low) Show is Wednesday and no time to order anything new. If needed I can bring TWO interfaces one for input one for output, but there has to be something I’m doing wrong. Heres’s what I have: Behringer UCA-222 (no preamp so clavinet signal is too weak) Behringer Xenyx 302USB -> I can process the Clavinet in MS and see the meters responding, but I hear nothing from the software instruments unless I press the Line/USB FROM button, but then I don’t hear the audio channel. Behringer U-Phoria UM2 -> All I hear from the Clavinet is the dry signal coming from the output jacks. (This interface was ordered recently because I’d read the 302USB can’t do both USB input and audio input, but who knows whether that’s true) Numa Compact 2 as controller NanoKontrol Midi Expressions Quattro 1978 Clavinet Duo
  9. Well, I'm getting a lot closer. At least I found the articulation editor. (Hint for anyone following; it's not in the instrument, it's in the Channel Strip Inspector at the bottom). Looking at the editor, I still haven't figured why in SOME instances notes are "stuck" and other instances aren't. Eventually, I'd like to be able to trigger with pressure, velocity, modulation or maybe the buttons on a Korg NanoKontrol rather than giving up "keys" at the bottom of my controller. I'm digging in here: https://help.apple.com/mainstage/mac/3.4/?lang=en#/lgcpcdb7b2d4 but it sure would be swell to find a youtube tutorial or even a paid lesson.
  10. I found all the articulations settings in the EXS24 editor, but I’m not seeing where they are in Studio Horns. This is as far as I got: https://help.apple.com/mainstage/mac/3.4/?lang=en#/lgcp19d099e1
  11. There some valuable information in there about the EXS24 to be sure, but I'm still not seeing where you edit Articulations in Studio Horns. All I see is what's in the image that I posted. Am I missing something obvious?
  12. Where do I find the Articulation ID editor in Studio Horns? I use Mainstage mostly, rarely do I open Logic, but I'd like to learn how to "play" Studio Horns and Strings instruments using Articulations via controllers or key maps. All I've been able to find is instructions on how to add articulations in Logic AFTER recording. Can you point me toward a tutorial or walkthrough on using articulations on the fly in Mainstage? (Y'know, after I fix these "stuck notes") Thanks
  13. I'm getting this issue where instances of exs24 or Studio Horns or Strings will act as if Sustain is down and I have to reach for the Panic button. If I change the preset inside the instrument, it goes a way for a few minutes and then comes back. I have Sustain blocked in that channel strip. Doesn't happen with any other instruments, only EXS24 and the Studio. I don't know where to start. Seems like if it were some mysterious mapping, it would occur in ALL plugins not just the sampling ones. Thanks!
  14. I guess there's all kinds of gigs. On the kind I do, a 20" monitor would not only block my view of the guitarist, singer and and good bit of the audience, but would also be fairly vulnerable to accidents. Here's a top view. I sit stage right with guitarist in front of me, audience to my right. This was a pretty small venue to begin with. (iPad is missing in this one)
  15. I don’t really need the display unless something goes wrong, but space is pretty tight at my job. A larger display might not leave enough room for the guitarists drinks. Seriously though, there’s no room on either side of me to place a larger display. (It’s usually in Perform mode and I can see song titles and faders fine.)
