  1. Hello again, I just wanted to add that this happens only on this particular project. Things are going fine on my other projects. I created a template of the project in question today and copied the regions from my original project to it but the same thing happens. So I think something is going on behind the scenes with this particular project that I can't figure out. Could there be something I could fix/delete/initialize in ~Music/Audio Music Apps? Thank you for any help!
  2. Hi, I'm having a problem with my piano roll view. The editor area currently shows two regions of a particular track and no matter what other region of any other track I double-click on, it's stuck on those two regions. (sorry, menu options etc I mention may not be verbatim as I'm not on an English OS) These two, and only these two, regions show up in the bottom editor when: - I select the entire track that the regions are in. - Double-click regions in other tracks - Deselect all regions by clicking on blank space in tracks area. - However, in score and step editor view, the editor window will switch to other regions no problem. So far I've done the following to no avail - Restarted Logic - In Preferences > General, I switched the Double click action between score, step editor, and inspect list. Thanks for any help!
  3. Thanks a bunch Garamond! That took care of it.
  4. Hi, I'm not sure what I've done, but the midi notes in the piano roll stopped sounding when I click them. They will play back normally. I've looked in Preferences to see if I've checked or unchecked something but could not find the cause. Can anyone point me to any possibilities? Thanks!
  5. I've never used drum tracks and I just record to a regular midi track, so here's what I do for whatever it's worth. If you have ez drummer, I think you will have midi loops in it right? Find a loop that's close enough to what you have in mind and drag that into a midi track and then edit away.
  6. As far as I know, it's always been a toggle, independently of the number of notes selected... Thanks David. My muscle memory from 9 seems to say otherwise, but hey, my brain isn't that good at remembering things either LOL. Appreciate your help.
  7. Thanks Eric, Your suggestion works. But I'm not sure why they had to change this from Logic 9. In any case, thank you.
  8. Thanks David, I realized it wasn't the option-drag, but the shift-option-drag. The option-drag works as you say, thanks. I have used shift-option-drag to keep the notes at the same timing (if dragging vertically) or same note (if dragging horizontally). Is this option no longer available in X? Thanks again.
  9. Hi I'm having a problem where Logic crashes when I do the "create MIDI track from Flex Pitch data" command. I rebooted the computer and tried again but that doesn't seem to fix it. Has anyone else had this problem? I've got the crash report but I don't no where to look so any ideas about that would be help too. Thank you!
  10. Hello, I cut a note with the scissor tool in Flex Pitch and the length of the note box has shortened. The original note was the length of the underlying waveform and still sounds for the right length of time, but the box has shortened so the drift line is squashed. When I try to extend the box, it changes the waveform. I didn't have this problem with cuts I performed in other sections on the same track. What do you think I might be doing wrong? Thank you!
  11. Hi, I'm having trouble with the option+drag in the piano roll. I would select a passage with multiple notes, option+drag them, and while I'm doing so, I see the shadows of the notes in their original place and the green circle with the "+" sign. When I release at the new location, the original notes disappear as if I just moved them to the new location. The strange thing is, this DOES NOT happen with single notes. It only happens with more than one note. Has anyone else had this problem, and fixed it? Thanks!
  12. Thanks to both of you for even taking the time to look into this. Really appreciate it. Adapt or die!! Cheers and be well
  13. Hi zgmg, I think you do understand correctly. The thing is, to do what you suggest, I would have to create that one region before I begin. That's one extra step. I know I'm being an ass, but that's one extra step that wasn't there in L8 and hope there wasn't in L9. Thanks again for being so patient!!
  14. Thanks Scott, It's not that I'm not recording anything ... I will be a second or so after I set the tempo. It's the ability to be able to set the tempo on a blank project with the minimum number of clicks and navigation and go straight to recording. Your suggestion is currently one of my workarounds. But then there's an extra step involved when I don't want the metronome sounding during playback anymore which will probably be soon after I begin recording It's just one of those things ... the previous version let me do it and the newer one doesn't. I know it might sound like a personal quirk but once you get used to a certain workflow, you kind of hope you can continue doing the same without extra steps. Anyhow, thanks a bunch and take care.
