  1. So I recently got the flashing folder of death and had to reinstall my operating system. I am running Mac OS 10.4.11 and Logic 8. I have run all software updates, but when I try to open anything in Logic, I get this error: This version of Logic Pro requires Pro Application Support 4.0 (687.0) or newer. Prokit: 591.0 I tried to download a newer version of Pro Application Support but it wouldn't let me install it on my computer because it needs Leopard OS. Can anyone help me out? Thanks
  2. All you have to do is supply an email address. They do not spam. You don't even have to give your real name.
  3. This is a song that I wrote and recorded with Logic. The video made the top 10 in a national contest with Bicycling magazine. I recently crashed and wrecked my bike and this is my chance to win a sweet new bike. My video is the one with the guy wearing the blue jersey, sitting on the can. It's called, "I Need A Bike". The video with the most votes wins. Please vote and pass it on. Voting ends June 6th. http://video.bicycling.com/contests/win_any_bike_contest_2010/vote/2PJJ830Z2WQQWKZT
  4. I think I might have done that, yes. Is that why that happened?
  5. The software instruments were ultrabeat and esx. I was able to go back to the second last backup save though, and it fixed the problem. Weird though, because in the final version, I undid changes to the point that it would have looked like the 6th backup and the instruments were still messed up. But when I opened up the 8th backup, the instruments were fine. Thanks for the replies.
  6. I'm having a major meltdown here. I opened up logic today to do some editing on a song I'm working on and when I played it, two of the software instruments were playing different sounds than when I last saved it. Also, my delay settings were all weird too, so I just tried to undo a bunch of stuff to see if I accidentally changed the plugin or instrument settings, but it just undid stuff that I had done to the regions, and the instruments are still all jacked up. I opened another song that I haven't touched anything on in weeks, and the software instruments are all doing their own thing there too. I am so close to smashing my computer right now. This has to be a bug, but what? If this makes sense to anybody, or you have any suggestions please let me know. Thankyou Joel
  7. Yeah, I have been experiencing this problem lately with logic too. Starts off a few pops and quickly escalates to the point where I have to restart logic. My CPU meter looks fine through it all. Mine has happened so far when automating with Melodyne. Don't know if Melodyne really has anything to do with it, that's just what I've been doing a lot of lately.
  8. He was pretty certain that his brains were hanging out. I think he says that like 4 times.
  9. Never mind. I'm stupid. It still has to have audio routed in and out of it, doesn't it? I think I had USB confused with Firewire for a minute. Thanks
  10. I just remembered that it has a usb plugin capability too. Would you recommend trying that? or would it still be better to actually loop through it?
  11. Cool. I also just realized that my mx400 does have multiple output pairs, so I'll give it a try doing it that way. What I want to try and do is use a hall reverb for vocals and such, while using a plate reverb on the drums both from the same hardware unit. So this should work, right? I'd like to use the SPDIF outputs from the reverb, but I only have one spdif input in my saffire pro interface. I'll probably just run some analogue outputs to the interface. Do I still need to run in and out of the unit, like an effects loop? Thanks again, David.
  12. Thanks for the replies. So, when I do use that unit through an aux, does Logic in some way record data from the reverb unit, or do I need to have that unit plugged in every time I want to playback the song with that insert?
  13. I'm wanting to use the cool I/O plugin in logic for my mixdown. I'm using a Lexicon MX400 applying reverb to a variety of channels in my mix. Will I be able to run different types of reverbs to different channels off of that one reverb unit? I'm not at that stage yet, so I'm just trying to visualise it. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Thanks
