Bingo! Thanks so much. Found it.
  3. Yeah, that's what I'm talkin about!! Thanks bro. Issue resolved. P

Chico, Thanks. I've installed it but can't find it. Where/how is it accessed? With regard to alternative markers; do you mean to say that you create a new marker and use that as a notepad? I'd still love to see a intuitive notepad option that enables us to create notes. Kinda like a sticky note whereby a small icon marks whatever section a note has been created for. In the track header, would be ideal . . . beside the record enable, input, node, freeze buttons etc. Thanks so much for your time and input!! Cheers P
  5. I'm a huge FZ fan and I definitely hear the Zappaesque figures but only in the intro around bar 10 for about 8 bars. Recommendations for FZ listening have been made here by Z and they're solid. Check 'em out for sure if you're so inclined. Nice piece btw. Good luck!
  6. Can we do this? If so how, if not, why? I try to keep my sends the same for all projects however it doesn't always go that smooth and changes are needed. My memory's not so great and I spend way too much time guessing what bus I've got going to what plugin or what group of instruments I've sent to a bus. Although the group sends do show up as tracks, and you can edit the name, I've not had any luck finding a way to label plugin sends.

Maybe I'm daft, blind or both but I can't find any notepads in Logic that can save notes pertinent to specific tracks, effects, arrangements. I love to make notes and don't wanna use an external app like text edit. I want my notes to be organized within the settings of the correlative song(s). Cubase has that option but I don't see it Logic.
  8. Should be on your Logic install DVD. I think it's an accumulated version of the Steinway Grand???
  9. Thanks Deep, That all makes good sense to me. P
  10. Maybe I'm missing some basic information about sound/midi files then. IF so, I apologize for sounding daft. I'm under the impression that the sound files of say, the Grand Piano, unless edited in the EXS, remain in their original format. In this case, the way that Apple originally shipped it in Logic. If ever we were to edit those files, typically we'd execute a "Save As . . . " command so as not to overwrite the original file. Are you with me so far? Midi files, on the other hand, at least my understanding of them, are a completely different animal. I'm guessing that we when save a song, or performance that the midi files are included in the .Iso file and have nothing to do do with the actual sound files they are intended to trigger. ?? If this is true, it brings me back to my original question: Why save the same EXS file, over and over and over again with each new song written when they already exist in their original location? As per the hard drive space, we always seem to think that there's so much room on our drives, especially when we go buy a gazillion terabyte drive. Then we awake one day to the ugly message from Logic which reads something scary like . . . your drive is full, or too slow to accommodate your request. Bigger, in this case, is wayyyyy better IMHO. hehehe Thanks again for your input Shiver! P
  11. Thanks for your post. I understand the concept of the "save as . . ." etc. More specifically though, what I'm trying to figure out is, the necessity of storing EXS files within a song folder when they all exist already in the "Sampler Instrument Library". I'm guessing there is a benefit to that if you wanna send the song files to someone, or take them with you to a session on a CD. Or maybe, they just load faster? I don't know this for sure. Let's assume though that you're using the same computer at all times, for all your recordings. Is it then really necessary to save the same EXS files, over and over again, for each song you create? It all seems so redundant to me. Hope that clarifies my question a little further. Thanks again for your inout on this mater. P
  12. As per your audio files I get the point but what of EXS and other inherent Logic files, (ES1, Ultrabeat etc.) Are they not already designated in a default folder which Logic reverts to? So many times I've found when loading something into the EXS24 that there are "multiple locations found for this file. Which one do you want to use" type of message. Any thoughts are appreciated. P
  13. Just curious to get some peoples opinions about the song/file saving options in Logic. What are the pros and cons of saving external audio files, EXS files, Ultrabeat etc. along with every song? Seems to take up an awful lot of (unnecessary) memory. Opinions anyone? Thanks in advance, P
  14. Herein was the problem. I wasn't zooming enough to see what I was actually working with. I didn't realize until today that but stretching the actual track view in the arranger portion of the tune that I could see all the specific sound bytes. Turned out that the samples were ending before the bar(s) they were nested in, Furthermore, If I copied and pasted some samples in a repetitive fashion I was noticing that although placed (or so I thought) at 1 0 0 0 they were actually being placed where the prior samples ended i.e: 1 0 0 221 . I've redone all the parts and edited them accordingly and, all is well now. Thanks for the tips and advice guys. I'm very grateful. Today was a great learning adventure. P
