  1. this is a new dyno-mod rhodes sound ive been working on for those interested.. it uses the vintage warmer, and for those who dont have this plug in i apologise.. but its still pretty cool without the VW. The other plugin ive used which is essential for this CST. is the parametric eq.. good news for this one.. its a freebie.. go to http://www.musicunfolding.com/muxeq.html and download it! its a really cool eq once you get used to using it. you cant save your presets in it though!.. but if you save a channel strip with the Eq on.. it preserves the settings you used.. place file in library-application support-logic-channel strip settings.. good luck.. i hope this twinkly little rhodes is useful for some people.. I find this kind of bright toppy sounding rhodes can be cool for certaiin mixes where you need the keys to cut through.. I think this is getting closer to the mark 2 rhodes sound too.. enjoy! rhodes dyno-mod.cst
  2. hah thanks dude.. yeh its pretty 70's.. drum sounds are all from different sources.. individual hits taken from records.. jazz and funk 12's... drums were sequenced in logic, (just using audio.. no midi for this one..)
  3. this track isnt finished so dont rip it to shreds... its just some ideas i wsa playing with one afternoon... but the synth sound ive used here is available for download in the channelstrip/plugin settings forum. http://www.zshare.net/audio/what-dyou-say-about-that-c-mp3.html
  4. This lead sound is great for funky stabs, or solo lines.. i have used an overdrive on this one.. but i would usually use the vintage warmer for a nicer sounding distortion.. but assuming not everyone has bought the vintage warmer i'll stick with the overdrive plugin for this post... (but i reccomend the psp vintage warmer as a mixing tool, you can get some interesting tone colours out of it) the lead works well with the modulation wheel on notes played at the end of a phrase to give a vibrato effect, its quite expressive when played this way. i will post a song up in the listening booth forum that ive used this plugin on... hope its usefull... peace. danrock dirty ghostbusters lead .cst insert into>library>applications support>logic>channelstrip settings>instruments
  5. yeh thats a good starting point, but i find the de-esser in logic way too harsh for my voice.. i think the 'spit fish' plugin by digital fish fones is much more useable on a wide range of vocal timbres... I suggest people have a play with the digitalfishfones freeware, they make some great sounding plugins! The compressor (blockfish) is great too...
  6. why does routing the output to an input and recording the track back through give you a better sound quality than simply bouncing from the mstr fader? I am a bit confused by this...
  7. yeh the synths are all from logic.. except parts that may be sampled.. for example the synth pad in the intro is off a record (which one i cannot say but the rest of the sounds are synths from logic... the only plugin i have that isnt part of logic pro is the vintage warmer which i bought to do a rough mastering job on the cd.... if there is a sound in particular that you want i can send you the channel strip settings for it..? just a thought.
  8. Thanks mate! I was definately going for atmosphere with alot of these tracks...Becasuse I needed some music to paint to.. Im an artist (painter) aswell you see,,, so i like this kind of music to zone out to... and just paint. Music for escapism you know... check out my artworks if you like.. www.daniel-otoole.com
  9. Undiscovered Lands is an Album I have written using logic pro, that is only for sale on an underground level, so im just selling cd's hand to hand and in cafe's, markets etc. The music is hiphop beats, lots of samples and some live instruments;alto flute, strings, trombone, sax, rhodes, guitar and synths... To download the entire 14 track album (high res mp3's) go the following address. www.dracomusic.com/undiscoveredlands feedback would be appreciated. Dan.
  10. I use this on flutes and harps, instruments that lend themselves to a magical atmosphere.. it works for me.. spacemachine delay.pst Spacemachine delay
  11. this is more of an effect you can use in a composition rather than a playable synth... a dreamy/atmos sort of sound to the organ. If you go nuts with stereo delays and more reverb than i have on here...it can be quite an other/worldly undertone to a mix and create some trippy colours in your composition... hope its useful. fairydust organ.cst fairydust organ
  12. im making instrumental hiphop with logic.. www.dracomusic.com or www.myspace.com/euphonicensemble
  13. ok cool.. yeh that makes sense actually.. lol
  14. This is just a nord bass i brought up from the exs24 library, and then added some plugs and messed with it.. but i think the high register is really cool for soloing.. its a very cheezy kinda sound, very early 80'S but im feelin it so anyway.. see if it works for you? i find it really goes off when you push you modulation wheel up full.. and use the mod. to tweak a note at the end of a phrase.. or riff... anyway.. its simple, but you can add whatever crazy effects you want.. but it wont sound as oldschool if you go too nuts! peace people... 15. heres a different version of my herbie hancock synth.. its just a little less bright and mid rangy.. feel free to mess with it and send me your interpretation.. im keen to hear what other people are coming up with... herbie style cleaner.cst.zip this is my herbie inspired sound.. but less harsh than the one i previously posted.. its a bit more ear pleasing, and will sit in a mix without to much trouble..
