Hello I have just bought a new apple laptop and installed Logic8 in it. Starting from Logic6 followed by all the updates. Basically all seem to work fine except for the software instruments (EXS24,monosynths, polysynths,ES1, ecc.) they don't visualize the editor window. Actually the window shows up but it's blank, with no controls at all. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hello I am about to buy a new laptop Mac and i'm wondering if i should get an SSD. As people say it seems to be much faster/silent and more reliable than a standard 7200 rpm HDD's. The only con is that at this time they are quite expensive (128GB=180€). I'm also thinking, eventually, how to work with logic sessions and how/where i should place the different files/samples/archive to create the best working system? At the moment i'm working with a PowerPC with Logic installed in its internal HDD and all the sessions/audiofiles/samples in an external Firewire800 HDD. Any suggestion from you guys would be much appreciated. Thanks

my fireface is temporarely out of order...its switching power supply needs to be replaced. that's why. But I have solved the problem. Actually if I open a pro tools session at 92Khz and then open a Logic session at 44,1Khz it won't work. The error "Error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI" pops out and there's actually no audio coming from the speakers. Apparently the only way to open a Logic session at 44,1Khz properly with an Mbox is to open first a Pro Tools session with the same sample rate and then load the Logic one. Basically within Pro Tools I can change the settings of the Mbox sample rate. Maybe there's a quicker way, but that's what I've found so far.

Hello, I just got an Mbox2 Pro. It works well with Pro Tools 8 but it doesn't at all with Logic Pro 8. the error while trying to synchronize audio and midi comes up every now and then with no audio coming out of my speakers. The Digi CoreAudio Manager says : Digidesign HW: Unsupported Device Status: Not Connected Does anyone know How i can make this thing work? I'm running on Mac OS X Version 10.5.8 thanks

Hi Submerse thanks for the reply.. the guys from apple told me it's not necessary to have logic pro 7 installed as long as i have the serial number or the XSKey...i think it's probably because of faulty disks.. i've heard there are several of them out there which won't work. also, i think OSX 10.4 is a bit more stable than 10.5

Hi I have today updated the operating system from OSX 10.3.9 to OSX 10.4.11 so the computer got cleaned from all the documents and files and therefore my old Logic Pro 7 disinstalled. Got the new operating system up and wanted to install the upgrade to Logic Studio i have bouhgt directly from Apple Store the other day, so i have inserted the Logic Studio Install disc, inserted my XSKey and clicked on the installation file to start. Setted the custom installation and clicked on upgrade. After about 5 minutes the installation process stops and says error while installing please try again. this has happend 5 times and now i have given up. I have also thought it might have been because of the previously Logic version (7) wasn't installed but i don't think that is the reason. Please any help would be great. i have controlled all i could think of. thanks

Hi I would love to use Logic for live performances and I need to know if there's a way to alter and manipulate pre recorded audio files from a logic session assigning cut off, filters, LFO, ecc. to midi controllers commands....like i would do with the ES1 twitching knobs and sliding faders on a midi controller as the file playbacks ? hope this is explained clearly.. thanks!

Hi Is there a way to refresh all the crossfades assigned to a session as they were entered originally..? Somehow when i reopen the sessions (after days) the transactions between the regions are very poor...and sounds like if the crossfades are not there...but still the graphics and the region parameter boxes tell me there are!! Any thoughts would be great thanks
