So, I haven't used Logic in a bit but used to...as recently as last year...a lot. It was pretty easy to tempo map existing audio, but then it seemed like an update came out and it got screwy, hard to view, etc. I stayed in Pro Tools.
This week I read an article that mentioned Beat Mapping had been quietly improved, and that you could even use "BEATS FROM REGION" (after highlighting and entire stereo mix you want to beat map) and THAT would even work. And if it was off in a few places, Logic would tolerate you going in an manually adjusting without it screwing things up.
So I tried it. Kind of worked...but....
I place the audio on BAR TWO. Then used BEATS FROM REGION and sure enough, playing back with the click, Logic did a great job, whether I specified beats or measures as a resolution. BUT....I noticed that the audio had shifted after the BEATS FROM REGION command by about 7 ticks. Shifted later. So it was no longer AT Bar Two anymore.
Anyone else see this or know why?
Thanks much
Tom
