  1. Everytime I open Logic X I have to set the key commands to "PRO TOOLS" ...as a subset of "US." I even made a template, but this doesn't seem to keep Logic from having to have this set EVERY TIME I open the program. Is there a way of making it remember? Thanks Tom
  2. So, I haven't used Logic in a bit but used to...as recently as last year...a lot. It was pretty easy to tempo map existing audio, but then it seemed like an update came out and it got screwy, hard to view, etc. I stayed in Pro Tools. This week I read an article that mentioned Beat Mapping had been quietly improved, and that you could even use "BEATS FROM REGION" (after highlighting and entire stereo mix you want to beat map) and THAT would even work. And if it was off in a few places, Logic would tolerate you going in an manually adjusting without it screwing things up. So I tried it. Kind of worked...but.... I place the audio on BAR TWO. Then used BEATS FROM REGION and sure enough, playing back with the click, Logic did a great job, whether I specified beats or measures as a resolution. BUT....I noticed that the audio had shifted after the BEATS FROM REGION command by about 7 ticks. Shifted later. So it was no longer AT Bar Two anymore. Anyone else see this or know why? Thanks much Tom
  3. Can no longer find where to turn software monitoring on and off....and yes I have SHOW ADVANCED TOOLS ticked. Nothing in the manual on this but outdated info..... thanks Tom
  4. Thanks I've been doing this for years, and then after the bounce, getting rid of the plug in on the track I bounced. If I have to go back fix a guitar part later, I have to get the plug back up, go get the setting I had, etc. Then I got to thinking....wait, I may not need to do that if Logic is freeing up the DSP after the bounce....good news! Thanks again Tom
  5. Hey guys, when you bounce in place, and Logic mutes the track you just bounced, does that mean the original track, even though it may have plugs ins like an AMP sim on it, are no longer taking up CPU? Or do you still have to dump the plug ins from the track you bounced to regain CPU? Thanks Tom
  6. Hey thanks guys! No I just want mod wheel data, won't be playing anything else.....this will work out great, really appreciate! Tom
  7. If I have 4 separate instances of Kontakt, for instance, is there a way to route one midi track of a controller like mod wheel to all of these separate VI's at once? Thanks for any help.... Tom
  8. If I want to select multiple regions on different tracks in the Arrange, so that I can trim them, or fade them, etc, is there a way to do this temporarily with a key command or something without having to assign them to a group? Thanks Tom
  9. I mean as an interface....thinking of one of these but a little scared as it's USB and I'm not sure how it would affect Logic track counts.... Thanks Tom
  10. I think I found a bug. Go into SPEED ONLY varispeed and pull it down about 25 per cent. Then select a range in the ruler for auto punch. Record, then go back to normal speed. Everything is REAL Late. I'm also finding things are late (but not AS late) whenever I record using Varispeed (without autopunch). I have to shift everything earlier that I played. I'm just seeing this in 9.1.1 with 10.6.3. Can anyone confirm? Thanks Tom
  11. Neither Logic 9 or 9.1 has crashed even once for me, and I use it daily. Guess I'm lucky... TH
  12. I know there are some skins for Logic around, but all I want is to change that horrid orange to a blue color display on the LEDS...anyone know if that's around anywhere? Thanks Tom
  13. Fantastic! Can't wait to try this, thanks so much! Tom
