  1. Sorry it took a long time. This problem is so random and very annoying. Here are fresh discoveries/ideas: - It does not seem related with MIDI inputs or controller issues. - It can happen occasionally when I change plugin/library in a track. - It can happen when I select a new instrument within a library inside a track. - It can happen when I add a new track and connect a new library/instrument. - Not sure it happens when using the stock plugins or instruments. - So far I only noticed it with dense libraries like kontakt/kontakt7 and EW Opus. - The quickest way to restore audio is by going to Logic Pro->Preferences->Audio - Then Core Audio-> Disable and Core Audio-> Enable .. Another problem I noticed is if I'm playing another sound on the computer (e.g. a youtube video), this will be accompanied by clear crackling noises if Logic happens to be up and running, but not if I quit Logic or if I turn off Core Audio in Logic, as above. I realise this problem is mostly specific to my environment, I am just hoping may be somebody came across similar.
  2. Thank you des99. This is worth a try. Will report back.
  3. Thanks Atlas007. Yes, my signature is up to date, and is latest as much as my HW allows. I just wanted to mention that when I have the problem sometimes it can be solved by restarting the "coreaudiod" process. Other times I need to restart logic altogether.
  4. Why does my post still require moderation after 2-3 days?
  5. Hi. Is anyone experiencing audio engine stops in logic. I often open a project, everything sounds fine, but then when I open a SW instrument track and try to play the sound using my midi controller, all sound disappears. I often need to restart logic to regain sound.
  6. I think this must be the problem. I am planning to buy a thunderbolt drive and format it to APFS. Too much trouble to format the existing one with much data on it. Can anyone recommend a good, fast thunderbolt drive (around 2 TB)? Thanks again for all the help
  7. Thanks JakobP. I think this will do the job. I'll either reformat (a lot of work), or just get a new drive, which I needed to do anyway. Great job 👍
  8. No. It is in ExFAT .. Do you think this will make a difference?
  9. Is anyone experiencing problem with samples/libraries on external SSDs? I have no problems loading them, it is that some libraries (orchestral/sustains mainly) begin to sound funny with some notes that do not sustain, or just cut halfway .. Once I move them back to the main drive then everything is OK! I am, by the way, experiencing this with Kontakt libraries, perhaps two or three libraries, with mainly sustain samples. I tried all the settings of "purge" in the Kontakt player, but the results were the same. It seems strange, because once all samples are loaded in memory then the source should not matter, but apparently it does! The HD is an external Samsung T7 (2 TB). Supposed to be quite fast! Just thought of asking if anyone had the same problem. Thanks.
  10. Thanks David! Yes, I am using Controller Assignments. The multiply parameter seems to do the job. Great 👍
  11. Yes, thanks Atlas007. Now when I thought more of it, it might be the settings of the controller itself. I'll have to check the settings of my Korg NanoKontrol2 and see if I can make changes there ... 👍
  12. Hi! Is there a way to calibrate/recalibrate the speed with which a midi controller knob/slider controls a certain automation parameter?
  13. OK.. That's great! I discovered that I did have the ADSR sample manager but haven't really used it seriously. I am struggling with it now. Perhaps You can answer some questions for me. Does it support MIDI samples? When I scanned my 3rd part libraries I can only see audio samples in the manager. Moreover, the scan seems to stop at 67% no matter how I update. I took it that the remaining 37% is the MIDI loops part. Thanks!
  14. This worked for me except it's still not letting me audition the MIDI files without dragging them to a MIDI instrument. The original post I made 2 years ago showed a dude just pressing the up and down arrows on his QWERTY keyboard and hearing what the MIDI files sounded like while still in the loop browser. In Logic, it seems like 3rd party MIDI files can only be heard/sounded if they are associated with a MIDI instrument. This is where my problem is/was. Hope that makes sense and thanks for replying to such an old message! The original attached video has been moved or deleted so idk how else to demonstrate the problem. The MIDI files I downloaded from Unison are just straight up MIDI notes and nothing else. How is Logix supposed to sound these files without an associated MIDI instrument? Yes, I have the same problem with SOME 3rd party loops. They won't audition! I wrote to the manufacturers but no response! I thought it must be those loops themselves that have a problem since other loops are working! Anyway, I did find out something just the other day, which you can also try. I can audition these loops if the Logic is playing! So if you press play on an empty canvas (e.g. the end of your project) you will hear the loops auditioning. Please try ...
