Bluespro123 on my Duet I just use Maestro for direct monitoring, and mute the Logic track/s I am recording to, its easy just have a look at the Maestro manual to find out.

Yep same here, I only installed 9 today so still checking it out, so far it seems to not do this with Logics own instruments, but with 3rd party. Sylenth, FM8, etc.

if I understand correctly, its that your triggering both instruments because you still have the track/inst selected in reason as you play something in logic. just go to reason and select the transport or mixer, so reason won't be playing anything while you play in logic. make sense?

Yeah get the Duet, $150 now on something else would just be a waste of money. You don't get anything really good for that kinda money. If you want something in between, I got a Konnekt6 a few months ago, the conversion is good quality and it has some nice features for home recording, dsp, etc, its $250.
