I have a Mac mini with the digital optical in /outs .. has anyone had any experience using these ??? im looking at a Mindprint interface with has optical in /outs ...

Ive been using Logic the past couple of weeks for a session im working on ... Ive been using the timeline pictured below ... using the 'u' key command to bring it up ... To cut a long story short ... i had to re-install Logic ... and now 'u' opens up the signature tab .... but i dont know what the 'timeline' was called or how to bring it up now !!!! ive tried searching thru the key commands but i may have missed it .. Can anyone tell me what its called ??? or the key command to bring it up ?? Thanks

The Tascam only has 1 firewire port ..so is this a no no ????

The Karaoke tracks are fine .... just the midi tracks im working on seem lacking in power (if thats the right word) !!!! ) .. im using a compressor / limiter combination which is working great at the moment ... but i will know better when i balance them through the live rig !!!

Ok ... i have a Mac Mini , which has 1 Firewire 400 port ... now im looking to get a Tascam Fireone interface and an external firewire drive (maybe a caddy as i have plenty of hard drives laying about ) ... ive seen caddys with 2 firewire ports on the back ... would it be ok to connect the Mac to the caddy then the tascam to the other port ??? which is the best way to get better HD performance ? my external USB 2.0 drive keeps giving disc to slow errors in Logic ...
