  1. Excellent! Just got a Remote Sl and had this problem too. Fixed now - cheers guys!
  2. At the end of the day if it works then use it! Who cares if some other producers knows it's an Apple loop. 99% of people hearing it won't know or care where it comes from..
  3. Try loading the sample into EXS24 and playing it back an octave lower. That'll do it without all the artifacts you get with pitch shifting and time stretching.
  4. Indeedy - works for all Logic's plug-ins. I've got it set up as option+command+up/down arrow on mine And option+command+L/R arrow to go through channel strips.
  5. That's because you need to select "Make groove template" not "Import DNA groove template. As long as your folder is selected when you do this, all the grooves will then appear in your list of available quantizes.
  6. Indeed, I use a similar trick when merging regions to make the resulting new file a certain length (for ease of looping). Say I've got a part that starts after the first beat of the bar and ends before the last beat and I've edited it. Now I'm left with several regions with empty space between them which makes repeating the part a PITA. I'll copy a small bit of silence from another file to the beginning and end of my edited part and then trim them to the start and end of the original region. Then I select the glue tool and Logic creates a new region that is the right length to loop correctly. I hit the L key and the part repeats itself for as long as I need and stays perfectly in sync.
  7. Same here, used to get it in express but haven't had it in Pro. Was a royal pain in the arse though.
  8. There's a mammoth thread about this at Big Blue Lounge http://www.bigbluelounge.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=34305&sid=b3fc644acc76b7b85ffb977c161c932c It seems that Apple's policy is unclear at best.
  9. I have a gain plug-in (bypassed) that is set to mono permanently inserted on my master out for this exact reason. If I want to check mono compatibilty then I just activate the plug-in.
  10. Indeed, this is a good habit to get into. For minor tweaks I just command+S and after any more substantial changes I increase the version number eg Song 1.0, Song 1.1 etc. That way if I need to go back to a previous version it's easy to find.
  11. Ah, I get you, yeah I mean't back on the grid as in forward in time - I see why that seemed confusing. Maybe I shouldn't post when tired.......
  12. OK, I could've been clearer - I didn't mean that the 1st and 3rd 16ths don't get quantised at all, I was saying that they don't get moved off the beat like the 2nd and 4th do. Not sure what you mean with the second part of your post. Anyway, as I said MPC grooves are where it's at. Jeremy, If you want I can email you a MIDI file of them that you can import into Logic and convert into groove quantises. Once you try them you'll understand.........
  13. If I've read this correctly then nothing is wrong. Logic's groove quantises don't affect events that occur on the beat. eg; a 16 C will move the 2nd and 4th 16ths back by 60 ticks but won't move the 1st and 3rd (down + up beat). If you want to get a nice house groove going on then you're better off using the MPC templates - between 55 and 60% does nicely!
  14. Excellent response Vacheto, very well put. Your avatar gives me the creeps though - especially when it winks!
