  1. When I record audio over another track with Logic 7, and then move that new track, the previous recording is still there, is there a way to record so the previous track is deleted?
  2. This is the situation David, I'm not a pianist but I'm writing George Martin's "In my life" piano solo to midi, GM couldn't play it at the right speed so he halved it, played and recorded it, it was then perfect when played at the correct speed. I've halved the original recordings speed which is on a Mackie HDR 24/96, the only way to do this on the HDR is by the jog button and pressing fast forward five times as the slowing down is stepped) this was recorded onto a Logic track, so now I can work out the piano midi at half speed. This done, you would think that by recording the half speed midi piano solo back onto the HDR and then by doing the reverse with the jog button and fast forward, that the audio would now be in pitch and at the right speed...well, it's in perfect normal pitch as the original recording but the tempo is too slow, even though it's in pitch??? I'm just looking for a way around this?
  3. Thanks, a shame as I wanted a track speeded up!
  4. I have a very old Pro7 can anyone please tell me if this version has Vari-speed and if so, where do I find it?
  5. It's been a long time since I used Logic 7, I know....an old one but a question please, when I record over a previous track, audio or midi, the previous track isn't deleted and causes audio problems, what's the setup for deleting previous recordings please?
  6. Thanks, I missed that, I'll give it a go.
  7. There are three "audio" choices with the 2408, analog, ADAT and another which I can't remember at the moment but no SPDIF, there's a different section where SPDIF is selected but nothing goes through to tracks in Logic?
  8. Thanks, I'm using a Motu 2408 the only selection is analog and ADAT no SPDIF
  9. Can anyone shed light on this please, I'm trying to assign S/PDIF digita to Logic 7, yes I know it's an old version but I just use it for bouncing down the master stereo tracks fom an HDR at the moment it's set to analog. I can't find any way to do this with Preferences or Audo?
  10. Is a Mac upgrade easy to do or will all the info on the HD's be erased, also can I just upgrade Logic 7 to the latest version or will I need to buy a new package?
  11. My Mac runs OS 10.4. If I upgrade does it mean that I have to purchase the latest version of Logic, I have Logic 7, also, I have Garritan Personal Orchestra, JABB and BFD2 drums, will these also need replacing? Thanks for any help. Phil
  12. That explains it! Thanks for your help! Phil
  13. I've re-booted, no plugin showing for mono or stereo track. I've opened the file that is in Components and paisted the individual files (as there are a few plugins associated with this file) back into Components. The file icons look like A4 sheets with the corner folded over at the end of the file name is dll.
