  1. I had one for a couple of years, and while behringer's reputation is generally well deserved, the FCA202 was actually an acceptable product for what it is, and it's price only cons really are unbalanced inputs and no mic pres (but it's designed to work in-tandem with a small desk mixer, like I've been doing for years) can't really comment on performance in OS X, other than it uses built-in CA drivers, as I was using a PC at the time
  2. Classic: http://www.xtranormal.com/watch/2868571 http://www.xtranormal.com/watch/1947831/ Hope you enjoy
  3. no, there's no separate folders, as the L9 installer looks to see what's installed, then adds what's missing EDIT: you can go back to using V8 with no issues, the installer will just rename the app as Logic Pro 8
  4. existing components are not replaced, but new elements are installed
  5. any method of bouncing stays in the computer (no conversion) unless you're using an external effect in your chain
  6. check the symbol next to the power socket on the device - there should be an indication of which polarity to use something that'll look sort of like this - -C- + indication centre positive, or +-C- - indicating centre negative
  7. Logic express will do you fine as you learn the ropes
  8. unless he has exactly the same plugins, then that can't happen - the closest you'll be able to do is use Logic's "Bounce in Place" feature, will render an audio file inplace of the track with the third party plugin once you've done that for all tracks that use plugins other than Logic's defaults, follow the sinner's advice
  9. those screenshots definitely indicate there's a problem with your GPU/Display combo - had a similiar thing a few years back with an old PC - the GPU was f*cked, had to replace it
  10. sounds like you'll need to do a fresh install of everything
  11. MBox is Digi, not M-Audio and you'll need to wait until Digi support OS 10.6, or downgrade to 10.5, or if you have the Pro Tools 8 software, try thie following link: http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?langid=100&navid=48&itemid=38671
  12. 7200RPM Firewire Decent size Good enclosure with decent cooling/airflow
  13. Analog Factory *does* have some editing capabilities, I think maybe 5-8 parameters... download the demo and give it a whirl before deciding
  14. happens to me too most noticeably with a kick drum (also with the EXS), I'm wondering if Logic is trying to play both the kick just after the loop, and the one the start It's not too much of an issue to me, but it does throw off my metering a little
  15. yes, so you can buy a second 27", just to use as a display if you have the cash Toslink as a standard is just pure SPDIF - only when using pre-compressed codecs like AC-3 or DTS do you get surround sound - there's a few consumer level interfaces that provide this compression on the fly, but until such a chip is built into your mac, you're out of luck EDIT: Used a Magic Mouse instore, and kicked up Logic Express on the Demo mac - scrolls beautifully, and the gestures in safari are awesome
