  1. Ahhh, that sounds familiar from a long time ago... Thanks very much!!
  2. Hello all. I've been away from Logic for awhile, doing a new project, and find I'm stumped by something that is probably really simple. I want to automate a plug-in on the Output 1-2 strip, but can't figure out how to do it. Can someone point me in the right direction. Have mercy, I'm a Perpetual Newbie even after being with Logic for many years... Thanks in advance!
  3. Thanks Atlas! As it happens, I fixed the problem myself, as something was chewing at the back of my mind about the validation failure in 10.4.8. So I remembered the name, deleted the component (the guilty one as it turned out) and voilà! I am now in business!!
  4. Hello, it's been a while since I posted with a problem. I have been running 10.4.8 for a long time, and today updated to Monterey 12.4 and Logic 10.7.4. With the older version, I had shown plug-in authorization problems, but I was able to abort and continue to opening the app; I knew which plug-ins were the problem, and I knew not to try to use them. Now, I have deleted all the plug-ins that new version says are problematic. Except one, and I don't know which it is, and so I'm stuck with the beach ball and a force quit. Is there anything I can do to get into the plug-in management list to see what may be failing validation? Or is there anything else I can try? Like maybe going through Terminal? I would have no idea of how to do that. This is frustrating... Thanks in advance, all!
  5. Thanks! Is there a setting for this that is global? Or do I have to do it individually for each project?
  6. That did it, David. I am in the habit of leaving my M-Audio midi controller turned on, and when turned off the problem disappeared. Doesn't need to be on when I'm not actually recording midi, of course, but I will keep an eye on it for eventual replacement anyway. Thanks so much for helping me through this!
  7. The issue happens less frequently now, but it still happens. I forgot to mention that this is the only Kontakt instrument track it happens on. I'm running another without issue. Should I also test other instruments (like Izotope Iris for example) to see if it happens, which could isolate it as a Kontakt problem specifically? Thanks for your help on this David!
  8. David, an update here... I am having the same problem again, and this time the advice you gave me is no longer working. What's more, the volume may jump when the cursor is still and no playback is occurring. Does any other possible solution come to mind? Thanks in advance!
  9. Thank you David, as so often over the years! I had checked track automation, but not the event list. I found similar volume changes listed for other MIDI region and deleted them too. Is it possible that my controller (an M-Audio Keystation 88-es, 3-4 years old) is throwing bad messages and might need to be replaced?
  10. My problem is that I am having a serious volume drop (almost 9 db) at always the same place, on a Kontakt instrument track. Also, if I stop playback with the space bar, the volume jumps back up to its proper level. I suspect it's some strange controller issue, or some spurious value being thrown out from somewhere, but I haven't been able to trace it, either in Logic or in Kontakt (though I always suspected it wasn't the latter). This is a brand-new problem, never seen it before. Of course it may be something blindingly obvious, it wouldn't be the first time... Anyone have an idea? Thanks all!
  11. Excellent to know. Thanks again David for your help (as you have done several times over the years).
  12. Is that LPX 10.5? I'm not quite there yet... Maybe this will help induce me to make the jump!
  13. Hello all, I am hoping to draw automation for the length of a loop, so that an audio file will repeat playing with varying amounts of silence on the end before repeating. I would record the output with Audio Hijack that captures the system bus (SUCH a great tool!) And I could manipulate other parameters of plug-ins while the repeats were going on. This would be for Logic 10.4.7 in OS 10.14.6. If this is something really obvious staring me in the face, I apologize, but I am the Perpetual Newbie even after all these years... Thanks all!
  14. I recently upgraded to Mojave 10.14.6 and Logic 10.4.6, and I am finding some odd behavior in the Browser that I certainly didn't have before. When I select "all files" to reference my folder of relevant files in the Finder (from which I drag stuff into a project), I am getting no sorting order that I can make sense out of. Before, everything was roughly alphabetical after numerical filenames at the top, but now, it's like everything is thrown in willy-nilly. Is there something I am missing that I need to set, or some box to tick? It's not a huge deal, but it is annoying when I have a large list of files. Thanks in advance to all!
