  3. If you have 3 logic applications in your /Applications folder, then you probably are already updated to 9.1. What version is the one just called Logic Pro.app? Unless you manually renamed the Logic application to "Logic Pro 9.0.2", then the only way you get an app with that name is through the 9.1 updater. Try manually opening "Logic Pro" and see what version it is. You might have an alias in your dock that is pointing to "Logic Pro 9.0.2" As a rule, with Apple apps, do not manually rename them, or move them to a subfolder or different location. All Apple applications should reside where they were originally installed - in this case /Applications/Logic Pro in order for updating to work correctly. If you started with Logic Pro 8, then upgraded to 9, and installed the 9.0.2. update prior to the 9.1, then you would have Logic Pro 8, Logic Pro 9.0.2, and Logic Pro in your /Applications folder. The one titled Logic Pro would be 9.1.
  4. Yes, the AU Bridge is a separate app that runs in it's own 4 gig memory space. All of the 32 bit plugins run in that memory space, and Logic's(and other) 64 bit plugs are separate from that.
  5. What some people fail to realize is that it's not going to help much, if at all, if the non-Apple plug-ins they are using are still 32 bit. It actually does help some, as the 32 bit plugins along with the bridge run in their own 4 gig memory space, apart from Logic's memory space. If you run in 32 bit mode, then Logic and the plugins run in the same 4 gig memory space.
  6. There's a pretty big list of fixes in 9.1 - it is not just a 64 bit upgrade. You have to be on 10.6 in order to use 64 bit mode, but all the other fixes are great to have. And, it leaves 9.0.2 on your HD so you can go back to it if 9.1 causes you problems.
  7. FYI, software update will not offer you the 9.1 update, and if you try to download it manually, it will not install. This is the end of the line for Logic on PPC.
  8. Core 2 Duo chips are capable of 64-bit operation. But, to benefit from the extra memory space, you need more than 4 gigs of real ram.
  9. I assume you purchased the upgrade version of Logic 9. If so, in order to have a legal license, you must continue to own a previous version of Logic. You could sell him the discs if you want, but he could not legally use the serial number that you used to install your logic 9 upgrade.
  10. The correct file to delete is /Library/Application Support/ProApps/ProAppsSystemID Trash that, then restart Logic. It will ask you to enter your serial number, and you can put the correct one in there. If you reinstall, you will have the same issue, as it is already authorized.
  11. how many other patches do you have in the concert? Mainstage puts everything in live mode at once, where Logic only does that when you select a track, so the requirements are higher. Also, Omnisphere is a very demanding plugin, so if you have multiple Omnisphere patches in your concert, that is a recipe for overload.
  12. No, the dock just contains a shortcut to the app. You can try reinstalling it - might be a good idea, if you've been through many renames and moves. Good luck!
  13. The root of applications just means inside the Applications folder, and not inside a sub-folder. There are 2 Applications folders, one is in your user folder - not the one you want. So: -Click the 'Go' Menu -Click Applications -Make sure that Logic is inside this folder - not in a subfolder -Make sure it is named Logic Pro -Run Software Update The concise instructions would be to not rename or move any Apple applications, then Software Update should work without any effort on your part.
  14. Have you moved or renamed the Logic Pro application? The correct path should be /Applications/Logic Pro.app If it is somewhere else, or named something else, it will not update.
  15. The correct path and name for the Logic application is /Applications/Logic Pro.app - If it is in any other location or name, it will not update. You mentioned desktop folders - make sure the application is named Logic Pro and is located in the root of /Applications.
