your right, you did. its just that the majority of replies have said cord or preamp. im just trying to see what everybody thinks before i go spend money on something i dont need. i do appreciate your response.

so you definitely think its that though. that sucks but at least im getting somewhere with this. ive been posting for about a week and a half on a couple forums and everybody says its the preamp or the cord. i sent an email to rode explaining my situation. thanks for the help!

im using a rode ntk on a behringer xenyx1204fx. ive already tried a different preapm and thats not the problem. i bought the mic off of e-bay and its been doing this since i got it. the mic cord that goes from the power supply to the preamp is new but the one that goes from the mic to the power supply isnt. do you think it is the cord? ive been getting a lot of different answer from "you need a new preamp" to "your mic is broken" i already know it not the pre. a new mic cord wouldnt be bad so i hope its just that and now the mic

do you think if i brought it to a place like guitar center, they could tell me what was wrong with it and if it was the triode?

i tried a different pre amp, a m-audio mobilpre and i got the same problem. im going to use some different cables and see what happens. i hope its not the mic. that would suck

no but a friend of mine does. ill ask him to bring it by this weekend and seee if its the mic
