  1. Just thought I would share this layout with those who are struggling with MKII and Mainstage... although this won't solve any Automap issues at least will give you a nice overall setup for live use with most main instruments... Please change whatever you need... this is how I use it. Suggestions will be well received! Novation MKII Automap.layout.zip
  2. I use it and it works great. K8 is a little cpu hungry though. Use several plugins, not all K8 and you will be fine. Organs for example you can use EVB3 (which has the sustain issue though) or VB3 from GSi. Piano I use K8. Pads it depends... You will do fine with K8 I don't think I am missing out by not having Ultimate in a live setting.
  3. I will try to explain myself in an understandable way... I guess! I am trying to setup my mainstage rig in midi channel 16 so I can use the same controller I use for mainstage to control my Motif Rack. I decided to setup everything in layout mode so it only receives messages from channel 16 (all controllers like sustain pedal and mod wheels are setup to all). Then since my motif rack receives messages from channel 1, everything was kind of ok. But then I noticed that my B4II organ or the mainstage organ didn't receive the sustain pedal messages! I put the control view on the mainstage organ and changed the basic channel to 16... I could play perfectly but the pedal didn't work. Same thing with the native instruments B4II. The strange thing is that all the other instruments recognized the pedal, only the organs had the issue. So my question is... is there a way to make the sustain pedal work when setting up everything in another channel different from channel 1? Can anyone repeat the experiment and check if it works on your side? Here are my steps again: 1. On Layout mode had all my hardware assignments to channel 16 (with exception of sustain, modulation and pitchbend) 2. Put my midi controller keyboard on channel 16 3. On EVB3 changed Basic Midi Ch to 16 4. On B4II (if you have) setup midi channels to upper 16, lower 15 and pedal 14, also controller to 16 By this time I think everything will work perfectly on midi channel 16 but the sustain pedals won't work for the organs only (everything else will work fine). Please help thank you eric Mac Book Pro 15" Mac OS X (10.5.4) Apogee Duet + Motif Rack XS
  4. I agree with Patrick... this is exactly what happens... i do have "Sample Accurate Automation" set to "all" and I still have the problem. Check it yourself and see, I am almost sure you will have the same problem. It goes away when I convert to aif just as Patrick said... and it does even happen when I don't have automation... it won't stay fixed and doesn't match the wave form.
  5. if you listen and look closely at apple loops for soundtrack pro with fixed tempo dragged in the arrange area you will notice that the waveform doesnot correspond to what is sounding at real time, and the sound shiftes depending from where you start listening (from where you put your playhead and press play), this makes it imposible to edit or automate. can somebody please explain if this is just me? I explain in detail what is the exact problem just below. I noticed that Apple Loop for Soundtrack Pro in logic, most of them (basically the ones with fixed tempo) come in surround sound... good (do not know if this is what is causing the issue), Now the issue... First I drag it to the arrange area, when I put the playhead in bar 15, to listen what is just after that in bar 17(lets say a crash cymbal) it sounds ok, but when I put my playhead from bar 4 and listen all the way to bar 17 the crash cymbal is not there but much sooner!!! which makes it almost impossible to automate. I dont know if I explained my issue correctly but I will try again. I had a proyect at 120 bpm. I liked a loop that had NO tempo information (I understand it is tempo fixed). I dragged it the media box, apple loops for soundtrack pro, to the arrange area, but I needed it to end sooner so I zoomed in, put the playhead a little to the left of where I wanted it to end and located the exact point necessary to start the slope down in the automation. I listened to the automation zoomed in and putting the playhead just a little before the automation started and things sounded fine... when I played the proyect from the beggining thus putting the playhead far from the automation I just made... when it got to the automation it was far off!!! the point I heard where I wanted the automation to start came in sooner but the automation stayed right in place. What is going on? thanx for your time eric
