I've used logic for my own musical projects now for about 2 years. Seeing I'm a bass player / guitarist, I use superior 2.0 for my drums and thats been fine up until now I've been offered an 'interesting amount' to record a friends band who want real drums. I'm looking to buy some mid range priced mics and are really unsure what to get. As my work is almost always some form of death metal, I would be looking for mics that wouldn't bring out the room too much in a mix, have minimal bleed, and capture a fairly direct sound. I have no experience in live drums so any mic help would be great. thanks!

I have borrowed a Presonus Inspire 1394 off a friend, and I am just up to plugging it into my iMac, from the back of the interface runs a 6 pin firewire plug to a 4 pin plug in my mac. Problem is my mac has 6 pin inputs only. Can I simply buy a 4 to 6 pin adapter ? Or will it work if I buy a 6 pin to 6 pin cable and use the external power supply for the interface? Hopefully this makes sense, I havent had much experience with Firewire before. Thanks.

I have borrowed an Mbox 2 from a friend, connected the usb cable, and now it's not being detected and no lights turn on when my mac is switched on. It works fine on my friends old pc, but is there any reason why it shouldnt be working? thanks!

Just wondering how I can get my own sample's velocity working in ultrabeat ? ive tried using the velocity cursor and dragging down as usual but it doesnt work. I know this has been asked before but the link to how to fix it says it doesnt exist anymore so any help would be awesome. Cheers! Skeletor.

s#!+ almost forgot to answer your qustion haha . I had the same problem but just check your sustain button isnt on (red) below the envelope area. If it isnt red make sure your allowing the envelope to play your full sample by extending the decay length by clicking and dragging the blue dots in the envelope area. Hope this works for ya. They actually do teach logic in Australia. I was tought Logic 7 at the institute of music in Sydney. Have a look around for some classes or lectures. Im sure you'll find some. Skeletor.

If I decide my snare needs more reverb on it is there any way of being able to do that in ultrabeat instead of having to physically go back and put more reverb on my sample and then re-load it into ultrabeat? Skeletor.
