  1. This was a big help. Was trying to run the IAC bus with Massive in stand alone. I was having this issue with a midi loop to I think. Thanks
  2. Hi guys, I'm running logic studio 9 on my imac with a firepod and was trying to figure out if upgrading to an apogee duet 2 would help my fidelity if I was strictly mixing offline with sample libraries and midi. No recording, just midi, sample libraries/soft-instruments and offline bounces. If not, I need to spend my money on better plugins. I thought maybe the clock still affected the bounce. Does anyone understand the technical process of this issue that can help clarify this for me?
  3. I thought I'd send you a quick 2 cents. You are very much in transition. These tracks need vocals and they need more of an element of melody. It sounds a little old school for a logic user as well. Try combining kick and snare samples with the same midi note to get more thickness out of those drums. Vocals could provide that melody but if you want to sell your music I think you might need to get a "demo" artist to put a few of your pieces in context with said vocals. I think you could need to master this stuff a little more effectively too. Possibly with a little bump around 400 hz to thicken and warm a little. Reconsider your ambiance and utilize space designer to give the overall mix more depth. Anyway, thats my 2 cents. Saw you haden't gotten any feedback so thought I'd throw ya a bone. Peace.
  4. I find you can really can get useable results by layering two amps with GAP on seperate tracks with the same input channel, pan L/R, a little EQ boost in the uppermids, cut a little in the middle and wahlaa give it a try. Peavey's revalver MK3 looks like a good bang for the buck, what ive heard looks good and you can download the demo @ http://peavey.com/products/revalver/index.cfm
  5. keep working. Go out on a limb. Try different directions. Try a remix of something else for inspiration. Hell.....put on some heels if thats what it takes but try some movement. Try some different directions now. Sounds like ur just learning to use your tools and you have some useable foundations to start with. You can do it.
  6. Oh yeah. Never before has a patch made me want to stop showering and grow my dreads so intensely. Strong work friend
  7. Wow. I didn't know you could get sounds that good out of the logic compressor. Denmark Rocks!
  8. You have to check this option before you bounce I believe or the option isnt available. Its in the manual.
  9. Thanks man. I got it to work but the sound qaulity is not good at all. It's a temporary solution at the least. Thanks
  10. I just found out logic 8 doesn't support MP4. Has anyone else found this annoying as well. Also, the itunes protection sceem sticks. If I paid for it why cant I open a song in logic on the same computer I've authorized the song to? You can't convert formats on pretty much all itunes tracks which are protected. Using the BPM counter, match EQ and other features is a must for remixing original tracks. I appriciate performance rights as much as the next guy but I'll just be piping the song into logic as a real time audio recording to do my bidding so why the misused semantics?
  11. I wish I could remember the last time my wife made eggs
  12. I dont have my triton anymore but this problem sounds familiar to me. I think the setting you need to change is in the triton relating to your midi channel numbers. They are in the board under some deep menu. Make sure your multi-instrument environment is sending the corresponding midi channel number as well. Make sure that channel in the board is set to receive as well. That is shut off by default except channel 1 i believe but look in that direction.
  13. Yep.....its a drag but as much as my imac costs. A walwart is a much smaller price to pay unless your wealthy. I even run a walwart to my axiom controller instead of usb because that big display is sucking current through your motherboard as well. I run it midi through my firebox instead, but some folks might consider that excessively protective of your equipment
  14. Food for thought......if you can avoid it, use a powersupply for firewire interfaces instead of the hub for power or a powered hub as drawing excessive current through your firewire ports has a distinct tendency to shorten motherboard life. Think about all that current you are running through your computer to power preamps through your firewire port. Its a little more to hook up but it will save your computer in the long run....or not so long run
