  1. Ok this thread is branching out into different subjects, but seems related, so if I can add to the confusion: 1. I'm very interested to run many instances of Logic but the way to do it flew over my head a bit. Can someone simplify? 2. Since Logic 10.7 (or since upgrading to Big Sur? Not really sure) I've had Logic upon "crashing without crashing" sometimes opening a 2nd instance of itself, after Terminal has been automatically opened and starting some process. Anyone recognizing this? 3. Weird, I have NO projects at all showing that preview look, all of my icons are white..
  2. I wonder if the fellas at LPX Colorizer has a way of doing it? Will email them!
  3. Hey guys, damn that new white Logic Pro project icon makes it super hard to quickly find the project icons among all other icons. Anyone know of a way to get the old look back? (to change the look of all icons of a specific typ I suppose)
  4. Not sure about the terminology here, but I didn't mean accents and stuff, I meant pp p f ff etc..
  5. I'm exploring wether Logic might be a viable alternative for scoring, it would be pretty handy to keep everything in one project! I've knocked down most kinks and found key commands for a lot of features. I'm stuck on one thing though, and that is a way around having to add dynamics manually to each stem by dragging. Has anyone found a a better way to do this? Dragging them manually from the part box seems like it might be the dealbreaker..
  6. Continuing this thread on a slightly different topic. I'd like to be able to map scrolling tracks to a midi controller, i.e. turn the knob and scroll channels. Somehow it feels like it could be done, but I'm not smart enough with the Control Surfaces editor to figure this out. Anyone got any ideas? (using a Midi Fighter Twister by the way)
  7. No Flex turned on. Or rather, it doesn't matter (I think), as that seems to apply only to the actual Flex Quantization, done on the audio file, rather than the Quantization of the actual regions, as done in the Event list. So, if I turn on Flex, yes I get the Q option in the Region Float, but it will apply to the Flex Quantize, not the Event List Quantize. So, what I want is more Q options in the Event list (more than Swing A, B, etc), and also the secondary problem (related or not) of the "Copy Value To All Following Events" not working.. PS, I found a workaround to the first issue. Turn on Flex, Quantize in Slicing mode, Slice at Transient Markers, Turn Off Flex. Not as elegant and of course doesn't work if I'd like to change things. PS2, I'm wondering if this has to do with region placement not being relative, the same way the transients in an audio file (or notes in a midi file) are. Because Swing D is an absolute position, whereas Q-Strength has to do with the original timing, which might not be "remembered" by Logic in the case of regions.. Does that make any sense?
  8. Yes.. Another odd thing relating to the Event List. I used to be able to use the key command "Copy Value To All Following Events" to change length and/or timing in the event list. But now somehow this doesn't work anymore. I always thought somehow that is is not supposed to work on audio files, and never thought much about it. But now it doesn't work on midi files either. And it's been like this for a long time, I've trashed preferences a bunch of time since. Am I missing a setting somewhere?
  9. Thank you! But the problem is, I'm not getting those options, even in the region float. Here's what it looks like when I select a bunch of audio files in the event list
  10. Hi! When using Slice at transient markers to Quantize audio snippets in the Event list, I'm missing more options than Swing, A, B and so on. I'd like to access the same parameters as when using Midi/Flextime, i.e. Q-Strength, Swing % etc. Is this possible somehow?
  11. I have a variation of this. I don't really care what happens when I open up Logic, but what I'd like to do is to get my own template in a new project with just one command, like you could with File-New, whereas now I have to go File-New Project From Template and then select my template. Can this be done? Basically have Logic open my own template in replacement of its own "Empty" one?
  12. Hi David! Yes, I got that was the case, but I was hoping for some sort of workaround I guess.. Or even some third party solution, some kind of sample player or something like that.. Hmm. Anchor points are imported when "content" is imported through the file browser Import section I think, maybe set up some kind of template project to import the files from...
  13. I'm trying to find a solution to working with sweeps, swooshes, reverse cymbals, etc. I find working with these types of sounds so tedious. Not only do you have to listen to many bars buildup before you hear the "meat" of the sound to determine wether it might fit your track. When you drag it into your track you also have to set the position, and I haven't been able to do this quickly. Time stretching the sound seems like unnecessary degrading of the sound just because I want to shave a few seconds off the process. What would be handy is if I could set the anchor point on the file at the peak/1 of the sound, and then somehow save that info along with the file, so that when I drag it from my hard disk into logic it would snap onto the the anchor, rather than the beginning of the region. But I haven't found a way to do this, even with Apple Loops (which would time stretch the file anyway) Any ideas? Open to other methods if any of you have any other nifty solutions!
  14. Thanks so much for this, was looking for an answer to this issue!!
