  1. I've been using a little mt4 for gosh, 20 yrs now? Anyway, same exact problem as everyone else on the thread: it won't work with my M1 Mac Mini. It's recognized by System Profiler, but not by Audio MIDI Setup, Logic, or anything else. Been hoping for a fix on this since February. I think I'm finally just going to have to buy a new MIDI interface. Anybody having success on Apple Silicon chips with any MIDI interfaces? How are those iConnectivity pieces? Whatever I end up with, I'd like to think it can last as long as my otherwise venerable mt4.
  2. Yeah, I have the Kensington software and driver, and I can switch the scroll wheel behavior globally, or even by application, but I like the standard configuration of the way the wheel woks for right-handed people: clockwise scrolls down, counterclockwise scrolls up. It just means that all circular knobs are backwards. If Logic had a preference to change the behavior of circular knobs globally, it would make my life easier...
  3. Sorry, I couldn't come up with a good subject title! What I'm looking to do is this: I'd like for Logic to treat ALL circular knobs in the opposite manner that it treats them now--that is, I'd like to drag DOWN for the knob to turn RIGHT, and I'd like to drag UP to turn the knob LEFT. Is there any way to do this? I'm afraid the answer is going to be "no." I've been with Logic for a number of years, and I don't remember ever seeing this as an option anywhere. I just got a new Kensington Express Mouse (giant trackball) and I generally really like it, but the scroll wheel is going opposite of the graphic. I don't want to change the behavior of the scroll wheel itself, because otherwise, it makes sense to me. It's just those dang circular knobs... Thanks for the help! Cheers. Mark
  4. So I've been running Superior Drummer 2 as a multi-output instrument for quite some time. Everything's great, working really well. Except one thing that could be better. Superior Drummer will only output in stereo pairs. So each element has to come up on a stereo Aux track. I'm using enough plugins right now that I'd really like to be able to address some these Aux tracks as mono channels. So, for example, kick, snare, hihat, and mono room mic would be mono. OHs, toms, and stereo room mics would stay stereo. It seems like I may be able to 'force' these channels to be mono by clicking the mono/stereo circle at the bottom of the channel strips. But when I do so, the Instrument input which used to say "Superior Drummer" now has a diagonal line drawn across it. (see attachment) The reason I muted the channel called "Drums" is because my scheme actually did seem to work, except that the mono auxes seemed to be doubling up on the right side of the mix--for example--when I would solo the kick, you could easily see in the stereo meters on the "Drums" channel that it was all coming out on the right channel--nothing on the left. For some reason, when I muted that "Drums" channel, the kick would move back to center. OK, here (at long last) is the question: what the heck is going on here? Is it OK for me to proceed as in the picture below? just keep the kick, snare, and hat as mono even though the diagonal line is there in the I/O pane? If I do this, it seems I have to mute the "Drums" channel, but i think everything is OK when i do that. What am I missing here? I'd rather figure this out than just going back to running every element as stereo. It's always seemed a waste to me to do that. And finally, sorry if i'm missing something basic here. I've been with Logic since the Logic 6 days, but I haven't really needed to run a multi-output instrument until a few months ago. Thanks, everybody!
  5. I just started getting this, too. No idea why. I don't thing I had changed anything on my system, so I can't figure out why it would start all of a sudden. Also, I cannot find much info on this online. Anybody have any ideas?
  6. you may need to redraw your waveforms. i think there's an option in the Audio Bin. Sorry, not at my studio machine at the moment. Is it doing this all the time, or just for this session?
  7. I'm surprised to hear that the CueMix software won't allow you to do this. Essentially the CueMix software would *become* the mixer to hear your guitar live, pre-record. I have a Metric Halo interface and their MH Console will certainly allow me to do that. It's one of the main reasons I love the Console so much. Short of that, I agree that your only good solution is to use an external, hardware mixer. If you do this, though, I'd try to find a way to split the outs of your Neve and send one signal directly to your audio interface and the other to your mixer. You don't want to degrade your Neve's signal path by sending it through a mixer pre-record.
  8. I'm wondering if this has ever been addressed. Oh, I really, really, really hope it has. It is just about the only way I zoom, and so far the difference between L7 and L8 is just *killing* me. This should *really* be something that is user-definable, a la key commands. The modifier keys were slightly different in L6, i seem to remember, so it is something they keep changing. HELP!

    Enhance Timing

Also, if you're going to use the 'Enhance Timing' plug, it MUST be the first plug-in in the the chain of plugs. Does that make sense? It reads kinda weird...
  10. It's also worth checking out your "Undo" file to see how many steps of "Undo" you're allowing. If your setup is allowing a lot of Undos, that file can get pretty big and unwieldy, and make your setup run slowly. But yes, "Freeze is your friend." Don't ever forget that!
  11. In terms of feature requests, it feels like many of us are clamoring for some of the same things. I certainly hope we get: 1. Improved audio-editing (view to the sample in the Arrange would be great) 2. Destructive plugin processing in the Arrange, including volume by region 3. Much improved Time Stretching and Pitch Shifting 4. Is Apple planning to continue HTDM support into the future? 5. Much better surround options 6. A true Bounce-in-Place feature to turn Audio Instruments into Audio and automatically create a new track in the Arrange for it 7. A re-written Audio Engine Sorry, that looks like a lot of requests! I promise I'm not angry at Apple or anything. Just a few features that would really speed up and improve my workflow. And maybe keep me from having to buy Melodyne.
  12. This question really resonates with me as well. (I will post a few specific questions/hopes right after this) But honestly, one of my chief concerns (and though anecdotal, it seems many of the message boards I frequent share this one) is simply stated above. Where is Logic headed? It isn't all that clear anymore. I'm certainly glad people are enjoying using Soundtrack Pro, but to me, the introduction of STP sort of muddied the waters. How committed IS Apple to Logic? There seems to be a pretty clear roadmap for Logic's competitors (Pro Tools, Cubase/Nuendo, and Digital Performer) but Apple has been a bit silent about the road ahead for Logic. We all know Apple wants to keep future specific features close to their chest, and that's cool, but I think we all just want some assurances that Apple is REALLY committed to continue making Logic one of the (if not the single) best music production systems on the planet. A simple statement assuring us of this would go a long way for me. And I'm not a disgruntled user, either.
