  1. me too. i gave up on that forum years ago. even if your post or topic did respect the forum guidelines, it could and quite often would still get pulled. there was, and by the sounds of it, still is, some really ignorant and rude moderating going on. and this pandering for stars/points is a bit pathetic, well, to me anyhow.. thank god there are places like this.
  2. when i was on PPC i used "imidi " and it worked perfectly. wish it was updated intel
  3. that could be in my experience - the intel macs totally EAT ram. they seem to require twice as much memory in most situations, compared to PPC.
  4. sure - its the absolute minimum recommended. ... 2GB or more being HIGHLY recommended.
  5. ~ 1GB of RAM (2GB or more highly recommended) ~ its a shame my 12 month old core duo MBP max ram is only 2GB. now the minimum recommended amount in logic 8.
  6. sorry, i guess im a bit out of my depth regarding the coding of audio engines, but ... to me ... thats all that was stated. nothing else. is it not possible to implement these features and yet still have basically the same sounding engine? does having these new features mean there is a new engine, or could it be basically the same engine with these new features? clear as mud. lol. whatever!
  7. ok, i cant go through another 6 pages a the moment, but david said on page 1 ... does/would that actually account for an audio engine sounding different?
  8. am i missing something ... why cant apple just tell us what [if anything] they have done with the engine? is it too much to ask? [honest question - not trying to be an arse]
  9. i asked how many processors it supports over on BBL forum, and mfritze replied ..
  10. its this chump.... a psychotic MySpace/YouTube publicity whore http://www.myspace.com/itschriscrocker
  11. i dont think ive ever had more than 2 songs open at a time. nevertheless, it used to be a big problem for me, logic would crash ALL the time ... until i added more ram. problem disappered. still slow as hell when its copying the clipboard contents and reloading the driver et all, between each song ... but at least i can actually acheive this now.
  12. sounds a little like my problem? http://www.logicprohelp.com/viewtopic.php?p=60214#60214
  13. the noise is from the hard drive itself, not IN my audio. i realize the bus activity will fluctuate. but these aggressive spikes seem v.odd. when at 50% ... no the song isnt stopping, but i am. i can very clearly hear the drive noise, and am wondering what the hell is going on. arent we supposed to be able to playback 100's of audio tracks at once on a modern 7200rpm drive? i can play the same number of tracks in live5 without the spiking so what gives in logic?
