  1. stevebennettoz@mac.com This is me. I'm in New York for the week but getting mail. regards Steve
  2. Tell me, will LPX take all the LP9 film scoring files I've made? Have you gone there? Steve
  3. France. Cool. Distance isn't a problem. I have only the desire to engage in the creative process, do some work and then see an excellent outcome. I use film to do that at the moment, as you saw on the website. What sort of things do you write? Steve
  4. hello Is anyone else getting a continual fan noise with the above setup? I have a Thunderbolt display hanging off my MBP and the fan goes constantly, as well as being super hot near the power supply. What am i missing? Is this too much for a MBP? Steve PS Noise certainly makes recording audio not possible
  5. Hello fisherking, Your setup is similar to mine. I am having fan noise issues with my 13. I am suspecting it is the extra work required to run the Thunderbolt display? Any thoughts? Any one? Bit prohibitive to record audio with the MBP fan freaking out. Steve
  6. I've had some fun scoring. Find its easier to do it in smaller scenes than scoring a complete movie. All sorts of tempo issues I have found. Sort tempo out first. Even minor changes will muck up your syncing. I've had no movie size problems. Even when I'm scoring a small section I have the complete movie in. Steve
  7. I'm a bass player, songwriter looking for someone to write with. I'm on a Mac in Logic. I have a degree in Music Technology. My early days (1970s) were in rock bands Atlantis: http://www.stevebennettoz.com/atlantis/ 1975 etc and Sea of Clouds: http://www.stevebennettoz.com/sea-of-clouds/ Later I worked as a teacher (1980-90) in a Steiner/Waldorf school, writing for children: http://www.stevebennettoz.com/kids/ The float left from Sea of Clouds turned into work for moving pictures. 'Underlying' took many years to complete: http://www.stevebennettoz.com/other-moving-stories/ This has evolved into working with old Silent Films (2009). I have completed a new score to 'Nosferatu' and now I'm working with Fritz Lang on his film 'Spies': http://www.stevebennettoz.com/spies-pictures/ Now I'm in North Carolina and my collaborator of thirty years is back in Australia (Chris Alexander: http://chrisalexanderguitar.com/site/) I'm looking for someone who wants to write together, for the fun and the creative outlet. I live in Chapel Hill. You can be a guitarist or keyboardist or instrumentalist… but we need to be able to work together. We can meet live or digitally… I have lots of ideas that I'd like to bring to completion.
  8. Plot thickens. I tried to bounce the track to audio and the resulting file has only very very faint audio (barely audible, totally lost in mix)
  9. I am loosing instrument tracks when I export to Movie! simply not there... Also the mix differs in levels... for various instruments. (Is there a definitive guide somewhere to Exporting to Movie in Logic?) thanks for any help Steve
  10. So the score is finished, synced to video, in ten cues all up. Then reassembled/resynced in FCutPro. One file now. Whats the best way to get a quality final movie on to disc? (Sorry if this is somewhat vague) Steve
  11. thanks Is there any point in being in 64 bit mode with my setup? Steve
  12. I'm completing a video project and have been exporting cues to view on the apple TV. Now the command is gone! How can this be? Steve
  13. OK so you're working on two versions of the same project, two different project files saved in the same project folder, both accessing the same media, you close the current one and open your latest backup, and when you try to save that backup again you get the message - correct? Were you trying to save that backup under a different name? thanks for your time I'm working on multiple cues/files for the same film score. They are separate cues (10 mins each) using the same source video file and one or two small audio files. Each cue is a separate project file saved in the same project folder. I may have at one point had two project files open at the same time.
  14. Only just opened Logic. Was simply going to play file while I worked in room. I think (vague in mornings-sorry) I began to notice differences, so I closed the file to check my most recent piece-message appeared. (warning appeared on my first save, nothing done, nothing changed except saving screensets for display to client. I was locking screenset 6..., I use GBand but not for two months...)
