  1. This is my contribution to the icon collection. I've really been wanting a reverb icon for aux channels. I got tired of searching for one I liked so I made this one. It's based off the TC reverb remote. I hope you all like it. Maybe I'll make more. TC Reverb Remote icon.
  2. LaLa is actually kind of cool. I use it more than iTunes now simply because it's helped be discover some interesting music. I like being to follow other people like on Twitter and seeing that other people's musical tastes are. Definitely worth checking out.
  3. I came across this interesting article the other day that blew me away. It's about designing composer Hans Zimmer's orchestral library. See for yourself. http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jul07/articles/pirates.htm
  4. Iscariot, the bands your talking about blend a lot of differnt tones. They combiine digital with mic'd sounds. I'm a big fan of all of the bands you mention. I use to be a huge Line 6 guy, but then I discovered Native Instruments Guitar Rig. Their program gets you up and running in no time. The cool thing about Line 6 is that you can go to their website and download user presets. Some people post presets that sound like Black Sabbath, Carcass, Nevermore. Check out http://www.customtone.com/index.html I think you'll find something you'll like. You'll need to use midi to transfer the tones unless you have a POD with USB. You can also try a technique known as re-amping. The thing that has worked best for me has been to blend different amps and creative panning. Good luck. You'll have to post your stuff so that we can hear what you came up with.
  5. If the AAC file is not protected you can drag it from the Finder onto an audio track and then it will convert it to whatever format your using (AIFF, WAV). After that you can use it as a template for Match Eq.
  6. What I like to do is create templates and then drag the icon(s) from the finder onto the Dock. This way if you have more than 1 song template you like to use, you can just open it from the Dock. After you open it you have to do Save As and then put your song wherever you want.
  7. My favorite would have to be the Saw. If your into freaky stuff like me, hombrewed waveforms are awesome and fun to make. Create a midi sequennce of all 32nd notes and use a hi hat sound. Then use the fastest tempo you can find, record it as audio and then import that audio file into your favorite sampler and tweak it. Another cool thing is to take a Tom Tom sound and then use only the sustain portion to create a new sample. It's kind of like a Sine wave and it has a lot of oomph. Distorted guitar make great source material too. I use to make all kinds of crazy sounds like this when I was using an EMU e5000 Ultra sampler because that was all I had at the time.[/b]
  8. Pete, I listened to some of your stuff. I really dug the skate video. I was one of these guys through elementary school, junior high, and high school. I miss skating. Check out my stuff and let me know what you think. I love getting feedback from people whether it's positive or constructive.
  9. It looks like people on here do some really interesting things with Logic. I know that some people on here have websites, but does anybody post stuff on MySpace or garageband.com? I'd love to be able to hear some audio examples. Maybe there is a place for it here that i'm overlooking. I've found www.zoetrope.com to be another good place for networking with people as well. This forum has been great! It's the best Logic forum i've come across.
