Ok, so the flex time audio quantization stuff is the one feature that would make me upgrade but before I do I want to know is it any good? Sonar added this feature a few releases back and all the demos and commercials for it sounded great like it could do all that and make you a sandwich, but in real world use I found that it completely sucked. The audio quality of the quantized track sounded horrible and the whole feature caused terrible instability to the product. So...what have your experiences been so far? It sure would help me when I get a track from a bass player that's just slightly out of time in a few spots and I could correct those things without horrible phasing and artifacts. I don't really have any interest in all the guitar stuff they added or any other feature really. I kind of wish they would buy out voxengo and bundle it into the product. Now THAT would make me push the 'purchase' button quickly.

thanks. i would have searched for 'snow leopard' but i'm using chrome browser and the search doesn't show up for me. I'll wait on the SL upgrade then until I someone else figures everything out. I use Garritan, DFH Superior 2, Akoustik Piano, and voxengo plugs. If any of those don't work I got big problems.

I'm a logic 8 user ready to upgrade to 9. I also am looking at Snow Leopard. Just kind of wondering if anyone has any knowledge of bugs with snow leopard and logic 9?

how does logic decide the default start and end positions on the bounce? Seems random to me. Like I'll have a project that's 132 measures and for some reason it will default to 3-91 or something like that. It's kind of a nuisance to keep entering the seemingly obvious start and end times, but I'd like to know what I can do to have logic choose the start and end that seem obvious to me so I don't have to keep entering it. I'll upgrade to logic 9 soon enough btw. Thanks for the discount, every dollar helps .

Does LP 9 have a useable de-esser?

Ok sorry I freaked out on the board last night. Just kind of a deadline thing. Marcus I think you hit it on the head. It was most likely the apogee freaking on me. Anyway a reboot solved it. Logic is still more stable than any windows DAW I ever used so I'm still a happy customer, I just gotta remember it's software so expect it to do strange things every once in a while. Deep Breath, reboot, repeat cycle.

rebooted and it's back to normal. jeeeeeez I could have bought windows and sonar if I wanted this type of crap.

no SERIOUSLY. Every project. Everytime I press play the playhead jumps back like half a second. I can't actually play anything now. WTFFFFFFFFF?!?!?!?!?!?! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I'm going to bed and this better all go away in the morning.

I should take this as a clue to go to bed. When I press play the playhead jumps back like 1/4 second. My project will no longer play. It's only going backwards a tiny bit everytime I press play!!!! This is not my night. What the hell did I press now?? The 'only play one second backwards' button??

nevermind. I got out of there. Not sure how I got in there but I found my way out. whew....

I have this project with just a midi track (piano) and single audio track (vocal) On the vocal I had several takes. I'm not sure what I did but the arrange view now says 'Audio 1 - Arrange' and it shows each take as it's own track even though they are all called Audio 1. When I hit play, I still hear the piano and the vocal but in Arrange view I just see all the vocal takes as individual tracks. Not sure what I did but I want a simple arrange view with my one midi track and one audio track back!!! Help. What did I do wrong?

you know what? the hard drive crashed where I have all my logic stuff. So I apologize to logic. It's a bad hard drive. Luckily I have it all backed up on time machine .

I'm not sure what's going on, but when I go to save a new project i get the spinning pinwheel of death! I switched to a mac for stability. jeeeeez. Ok so anyone know what to do here. I think logic has lost it's grip on the file system for some reason. Because I get the same result when I go to the 'open recent projects' under file as well. It's having trouble and I can't use it right now. Which is obviously a big problem for me. Oh, and as an added bonus. Force Quit won't even shut down Logic either! I have to literally unplug my machine to force the whole box to shut down and restart. It's like I'm back on windows all the sudden. I'm having flashbacks here.

I have some automation nodes that I have to set to specific values, but I don't see where I can enter those values from the keyboard. Seems like I can only drag the node around with the mouse and take what it gives me. There has to be a way to enter the value for each node?? Right?
