Conno, I found my problem.. It was 3am in the morning when I made my request and I was brain dead..(ugh) After a few hours sleep, I went back and had no problems.. Thanks Desperado 8)

I am wanting to lay down some loop tracks, then using the midi keyboard found in logic I want to lay down some of my own sounds, but am running into all sorts of problems. What do I need to do to make this work? Thanks Desperado 8)

My first (paid) experience in Location Sound

Thanks for sharing your experience! Also thanks for some detail such as the bathroom experience. I am sure it was fun as well as frustrating at times, but sound like you had an overall great time.. best of luck in the future as well Desperado 8) -
It has been about 5 days since I have been learning about LP8, and I am having the time of my life. As I have stated elsewhere I tried the MV8000 and Reason and had problems.. But using Davids book, I have learned so much and that I am just getting started... I love my 20' imac as well as I love working with it. Seriously,,I had been having a very difficult time, and it mostly was because i could not find teaching that i could easily understand, so I had almost given up hope.. But NOW...I know all I have to do is to continue working with Davids book and the other video tutorials out there and it won't be long that i will be on my way,,so yes,,,,I am FIRED up...and having a TOTAL BLAST!!!!! Found this from another user. The British music magazine Music Tech (anthem publishing) has a special Logic Pro (only) edition now on newsstands in the US. I bought one tonight at Barnes and Nobles for $19.99. It claims to have 132 pages of pure logic pro, and 62 pages of logic pro workshops. it also comes with a dvd which has some video tutorials but I have not checked them out yet. It seems to have about 35 separate articles including 4-5 interviews with prominent logic users. In case anyone is interested. Desperado 8)

I only received 1 stick of 2Gig Ram, I was supposed to get 2. so can I go ahead and install the one stick to my imac now and put the other one in when I get it in a few days? or should I wait till I have both sticks? (I have 1Gig now). Thanks Desperado 8)

Our support group is located in the Lounge... Now that is funny!

No offense taken... The Imac got home about 12 ish..after I wiped myself off ..I unloaded the box and started the "Installation" Luckily I work only a minute away from home, so I started the "Installation" and am able to sneak out of work and put in the needed disk at the time. I will complete the "Installation" ..Then add the 4Gigs of Ram that I just received as well... This is my first Apple computer, so I am learning all it's differences as well. so it is a load of fun... Get this...before I knew the imac had a easy installation of the Ram, I called Best Buy and they wanted to charge me $200 labor to put the extra RAM in ..I was fired up when I saw how easy it was to upgrade So anyway,,,thanks for all the fun and help... See ya around!!! Desperado 8)

Thanks Spectacle I was really confused on some of the answers given, but you cleared that up.. No, I did not pirate anything, which is why I had to wait so long to get my gear as I had to save all my nickels and dimes to get it, so that is why the excitement is building up as I wait for FedEx to deliver my imac...!!! I am just an old 60's/70's musician that before I got married (dumb move) I had a rock and roll band and a jazz band, and had to walk away from music to feed the family. So I am just fired up to get creative again and see if I still have it in me Music to me is a lot of lonely (but fun) hours writing music, and then sharing it with other musicians as you also talk music and listen to their latest find... like I said hanging out with the guys talkin shop So that is what I am hoping to find here, friends talking what we love ..Music... Thanks so much Spectacle!!! Desperado 8)

Yes I meant to "Install"... Figure it out for myself...Yes I will do that, but in all honesty, I am just a happy guy thrilled to get what I have been waiting for a long long time, so the questions were just for conversation... As I have been on other music forums where it was a lot of fun talking our latest music production or just whatever, as it was like a bunch of friends hanging out, so questions like that were of no problem. But maybe this forum isn't like that. Thanks for the info everyone, I appreciate it.. Desperado 8)

How long does it take to download all the info in Logic Studio? When I get it loaded up, will I have to download any upgrades, or will it have it already in the package since I just bought it? Thanks Desperado 8)

Yes, yes, and yes again...The Roland manuals suck big time!!!!, so that was a big problem. So it has been great as I have found quite a few tutorials, I watch them all as they all focus on different areas, and that gives me a nice variable teaching, as it will get me ready when I get going with Davids book, then I will have a head start! /quote] I recently made a challenge to myself: - one "song" every two weeks to "completion" They might suck, but that's not the point. The point is to learn the equipment/plugins/etc, and to get into the habit of making goals and meeting them. I just started that yesterday, with uploads on Tuesdays/Wednesdays. Should be fun. Take care, - zevo Thanks for that tidbit, as it makes a ton of sense...sooo if you don't mind I am going to adopt that idea myself! I think that is a great way to learn Logic, or anything else for that matter.. And who knows maybe we will create a nice piece of music while we learn! Thanks Zevo! Talk to ya later... Desperado 8)

Zevo, Thanks... My biggest problem is patience A couple of years ago I bought a MV8000 and thought I would master it in a day and start making music, but even though it was not the right machine for me, I could have done better with it. Then last year I took a class with Berklee Music online with Reason, but it did not allow me time to absorb how to work the program. I thought about PT but felt it was limited in what i could do, sooo.... Now I am here, as I bought the LP8 2 weeks ago and have been looking around for a Mac so now that is on its way, so in the meantime I have found some tutorials and have been reading Davids book.. So I think I will be ok... I wish you the best also, and look forward to hearing what you come up with!!! Take care... Desperado 8)
