This will perform very nicely. Personally, I'd consider the 1TB SSD, though. Ok, I have no idea about how you work (or plan to work), but for my needs, 1TB would be the bare minimum I could deal with - and I'd still have to connect an external drive often. Obviously, in case the latter is no issue for you, then go for it.

I bought the fully maxed out version (24GB RAM, 2TB SSD). I actually don't think I will need the RAM so badly, so I could've kept it at 16GB, but more RAM possibly also translates to at least somewhat less SSD usage (less caching) and compared to the SSD upgrade it seemed sort of "affordable" (of course, none of those upgrade prices are even close to reasonable, so you have to calculate differently in Apple land). The 2TB SSD however was a must, even if I sort of cringed on the €690 (from 512GB to 2TB), simply because I know that this would be enough to have all relevant sample libaries, all actual projects (and some "permanent" things I need to practice for gigs and such) plus some "casual" things with me all the time. Add to this it's recommended to not fill your SSDs much above around 80% for maximum longevity. And as one of the key aspects of going for a Macbook was mobility, I couldn't see myself fooling around with an external SSD while having a good time in the garden's hammock or so.

If you can afford it, defenitely. I just got mine last week and the power this little thing delivers is just stunning.

Thing is, Logic never recognizes Battery as a mixture of mono and stereo outputs. And once you go for one of the mixed output modes, the aux channels Logic will create will be stereo.

Quite nice but not enough USB outs - from a bigger device I'd want more (possibly instead of the card readers which I pretty much never ever need). I've got 5 USB devices connected permanently at my main workspace already, so a larger dock should rather cover these (I should note that I'm oldschool when it comes to mice and keyboards, so both need their own USB port - but I could of course reduce that to one, using a mini 2x HUB). Anyhow, I brought the Hama back and as there were zero alternatives either at "Media Markt" or at "Gravis", at least not going for reasonable prices, I just went home with another of the same type. And guess what? This time everything seems to work. Perhaps a monday morning dud in the first round. Gives me some time to think about what I might want as a serious solution. As it'd be a stationary arrangement, I'd have no concerns about adding a simple USB hub, so we'll see. Fwiw, amazingly enough, USB-C-to-B (aka "printer port USB") cables still don't seem to be a regular thing, all they had in 3 stores was adapter plugs, which will possibly harm the sockets due to their size and tension going along with that. Last thing I want is to damage one of those rare breed USB ports.

Yeah, I already found them. Pretty weird to me as these have been Logic's defaults since, well, forever or so. And all of a sudden they're assigned to some system functions. Anyhow, in this case I think I'll try to get used to the new combination - which is making sense on a Macbook anyway, because the command key is on the right side of the keyboard as well, whereas the CTL key isn't (on a full size keyboard it is). So when working without an external keyboard, that's the better way to zoom in/out.

I have some of their mobile gadget peripherals (also another HUB), and while not great, they always did their jobs fine. But this is really annoying...

Yeah, it's been the key commands. Let's hope I won't find much else along those lines (I have sort of elaborated set of my own KCs). Yeah, I'm aware of that. Thanks anyway!

Title says it all. You could use the CTL key and the arrow keys to zoom in/out for decades. Doesn't work in 10.8.1 on my new MBA anymore. It rather triggers some scrolling through Spaces or whatever. Can I get that back?

Fwiw, as far as the little HUB I bought goes: Don't! I just discovered my mouse would only work on one of the 3 USB-A ports. Ridiculous. Other things are working fine on the other ports, but this is too fishy for me so it'll go back.

The only thing I noticed is that I already need more ports. Getting along for now, but will order a larger one the next days and use this for traveling. Regarding anything else, this thing just delivers. I'm really having issues with Apples pricing ideas, but in case the thing won't break and stay alive without issues for the next 5 years, I think it'll be money well spent. Also quite happy I went with the 13" instead of the 15" (which was my first plan), the form factor is just perfect.

Fwiw, the little HUB I bought works as supposed. It's made by Hama and called "USB-C Multiport + HDMI, Ethernet". Might buy their bigger version, too, already running out of USB-A ports (but this one will be perfect for traveling).
