  1. I've updated everything. I was noticing something glitchy when running Natively but should probably track the source and make note of what might hav caused it. I record to an external SSD drive. I'll try those other settings (thanks).
  2. I'm surprised at how sluggish Logic is operating with my new M2 Ultra computer (128 GB ram) so I just wanted to make sure I'm doing "best practices" to reduce the feeling of latency in overall operation (where it takes a noticeable pause to perform most things, etc.). Here's what I've tried: - currently working in Rosetta as that seemed to initially speed things up (even though my program and therefore all my plugins seemed to operate without it, just more slowly) - I've tried both reducing and increasing the I/O Buffer Size and still can't assess which is better/worse - ditto for Process Buffer Range (I've read for some it's better set to "Small" to reduce sluggishness but I'm not yet sure) - Processing Threads: set to "Automatic" What else, if anything, might I try? Thanks for any further suggestions! D.D.
  3. Thanks. And if I subsequently bounce stems of what was imported (after editing further in Logic), I presume the bit depth will similarly be maintained? - D.D.
  4. Once I import them will they retain their 32 bit depth? Or is there something I need to do to enable this? (thanks!) - D.D.
  5. And (all): I think I've found a solution (or at least a "workaround"): by downgrading to Logic Pro 10.7.4 (which I realized I had a backup of), I was again able to do offline bounces in that specific "problem project" (!)...So (unless people think there might be issues with my doing so) I think I will stick with 10.7.4 for now (as well as turn off auto-software updates as I used to do, going forward, and keep every point version of Logic just to be safe, as others have suggested). Thanks all - - D.D.
  6. You may have a point, Jim...I was just concerned about having to re-link many, many music plug-ins. As it turned out, by connecting a Thunderbolt 3 cable the whole transfer took only about an hour from a 2019 Macbook Pro (Intel i9) to my new M2 Mac Studio. I've also re-installed several apps just to be safe... - D.D.
  7. Thanks - it works! Amazing. Do you think there's any value in my also reverting to 10.7.4 (just in case it helps that offline bounce issue)? If so: I presume I won't have issues loading into 10.7.4 projects created in subsequent versions of Logic? - D.D.
  8. Actually, one follow-up: you said "I don't know how important the score sets are to you, but to "fix" a project, start with a new blank template (or at least one that doesn't contain those score sets), import everything *except* the score sets into the new project, and save." but I can't figure out how to uncheck Score Sets when importing data (presuming there is a way to do this?) - D.D.
  9. Amazing! I will definitely do this. And I must have been basing projects off of a VERY OLD initial Logic Project (that I've continuously updated) as I haven't used Score Sets in years :-)...So this won't be a problem. I've also (incidentally) also located (on my wife's computer) Logic 10.7.4 so I was also tempted to downgrade (in case this is related to that bouncing problem). But I will keep that option in my back pocket (and it was good to have the reminder to consciously save past versions of Logic whenever I update - I think at some point my apps were inadvertently set to automatically install whenever a new update appeared). I'm presuming I can just zip Logic up in her Applications folder and move it to my computer (renamed Logic 10_7_4)... Much thanks! D.D.
  10. Thanks! I actually DO have Logic 10.7.8 saved on a backup drive so could revert if it might help. - D.D.
  11. Another (possibly related) question: is there any way for me to "downgrade" to the previous update for Logic? I feel like these problems only started to happen with the most recent update (or thereabouts)... - D.D.
  12. Not too long at all - just a couple of weeks, etc. (before I upgraded my computer). Here's another test I've created for you to try on your end. To get the zip go here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tAHpqKX8fUz4XDLx_P4T8utn2YKqiRwE/view?usp=sharing and choose the "download" icon in the upper right. It's a folder containing: 01) a test Logic project (newly created) to open, plus: 2) an older project (from the past several months or so) which I've opened, deleted everything other than a couple of MIDI notes, then re-saved for you to import it's settings into the test project using file->import->import Project Settings. Will be curious if you get the same "out of memory" error? Thanks and best - D.D.
  13. I just tried setting up a blank Logic Project into which I tried loading a newly-created Logic Project that contained the Project Settings I wished to import. When I did this, no error. However, when I create a blank Logic Project and try importing Project Settings from seemingly any past project that contains meaningful data, etc., I get the error (which of course will be problematic since I want to be able to generally import elements from other Projects). I'm trying to find something like this that contains meaningful data that I can also share (since this is what causes the error). D.D.
