  1. The keyboard was given to me so i dont have the manual. I have searched the internet but cant find the answer. This is sooo frustrating..I dont understand why not one single key will respond, but yet logic reads the pitch and mod wheel
  2. I have an m audio keystudio 49 key midi controller but it is not responding. When plugged in, logic recognizes it when i touch the mod and pitch wheel, but nothing happens when i press the keys. No sound, nothing. It doesnt even register in the midi window in logic, same for garageband as well...Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?
  3. im not to sure about the last question. I am going there soon to do some finishing touches so I will check.
  4. thanks for the first response lol.. I could see that. The vocal booth they have is probably more than double the size of mine, the whole thing is sound proof, and there is a door, then about a 2 foot walk way, then another door.
  5. I have recently started recording in another studio instead of my own. I worked on a mixtape and wanted the quality to be good seeing how its the first impression people are getting. I noticed that when I record things in my studio, my voice sounds horrible. Sounds very boring and dry,and is lacking a flow. The studio I have been recording at makes my voice sound great, with no type of auto tune or melodyne unless needed for a specific sound. They use the same mic as me,shure ksm27 . I was just curious to see if others have the same experience,or know of any reasons why. This is pure curiosity. I just dont understand why I sound so different when recording at a different studio. Its literally to the point that I sound like im trying to be a rapper at my home studio, and I actually am a rapper at the other studio. I also use the yamaha HS80M monitors for playback, and a firestudio tube by presonus. Like I said, just curious to see what some proffessionals have to say. Anyone with this type of experience, or anyone who once sucked and is now good, maybe you can tell me why this big difference is occuring.
  6. the -15 db pad? on the mic? I always keep that switch at zero. I noticed when I put it to -15, the volume was even lower
  7. I have posted a few times with a similar question but never get the exact answer to solve my problem. Is there a common set up for the presonus firestudio tube. It seems to me,that I either have the mic volume to low and can barely hear my voice in the headphones(but the beat I can hear perfect) or it is loud enough for me to hear in the headphones but is recorded to loud. I always keep the track volume at zero, and keep the track with the beat on it, at around -6. I notice that if the mic volume knob is at 1 o clock(the middle) or less, i can barely hear myself and sometimes hear nothing at all. Past the middle point, going towards the right, the mic starts to get to loud so that when I play it back through the monitors, my voice is to loud and annoying. I also use the mixer that came with the software but that doesnt seem to help. I dont use pro tools, just logic, shure ksm27 mic, 2 yamaha hs80m monitors and the presonus tube. If I cant get this right soon, I will have to be forced to drop over $300 for studio time.
  8. That really doesnt help man. Thats what Im asking for someone to help me with
  9. Hey youll, I know I have probably asked this question before or at least a similiar one, but im in a bind. I am putting out a mixtape next money when i get back from a vacation, but i am working on it now so when I come back all I have to do is burn copies and stuff. I am currently using a shure ksm27 mic, presonus firestudio tube, obviously logic, but not protools because i have not mastered it yet. I have a pop filter in front of the mic, which is in the vocal booth that I built(extended closet with a door and window, and soundproof covering 90% of the inside) My problem is, I never know what levels to record at. That goes for the volume levels in logic,on the firestudio tube, and the mixer software it comes with. Every time I get an aswer, people talk in language i dont understand lol,i try to do research on it but im a visual learner unless I have step by step instructions. I cant afford $45 an hr for a studio but I want this mixtape to be as perfect as I can get it. Its a first impression to the people of my rap abilities. I know everyone is different, but please give me some general tips that work for everyone and most set ups. Basically just want the sound to be clean, and not to loud and not to low. I find that lowering my mic volume just a little bit makes it to low(and i can barely see any waves in the audio region) or if i turn it up a little it seems to be to high and sounds horrible.
  10. just figured it out..dont ever remember turning that off.Must of on accident
  11. lol yea right wish. Its not responding to anything, even tapping on the mic
  12. When i sing into the mic, pitch correction does nothing. It works for previously recorded vocals but does nothing when speaking into the mic. Mic is in correctly. What could it be
  13. lol i figured it out. it had to do with omnisphere. I downloaded the update and never re authorized it so it was like omnisphere was not there. Once i authorized it and re opoened the program it worked. My bad lol
  14. I have a song, and certain tracks wont play. Actually, the only tracks that will play are the drums which are ultrabeat tracks. The song worked fine an hour ago,i closed it out to start another song, then went back in to start working on it again and none of the tracks except the drums will play. Nothing is silenced,or muted. Even when i click the midi note in the drum roll,or press the keyboard, nothing sounds. Only one some of the tracks do any sounds play. This actually happened before but i trashed the project anyways
