  1. I was holding off as I'm in the middle of a project but maybe I'll try as it's really driving me nuts
  2. It is a 3rd party Logitech mouse, but no issues in any other software. Good idea though, I'll double check with trackpad next time it happens.
  3. Logic 10.7.2 - getting this super annoying intermittent issue where I'm editing automation, or general tweaking and suddenly the pointer won't be able to pick 'solo' or 'mute' on the channel and won't select automation nodes. It usually lasts about 30 - 60 secs of zooming in out, opening &closing windows etc and suddenly the pointer starts working again. The pointer isn't frozen, it just stops 'working'... any ideas?!
  4. thanks zipfunk & des99, will dig into this now and get it sorted
  5. Logic isn't 'seeing' E3 from my Roland A-series keyboard controller. The problem is not the keyboard - if I transpose the keyboard +1octave then the physical key works (sends E4) and the key that previously successfully sent E2 now sends E3 but Logic won't see it. I feel like it's a preference buried in Logic somewhere that I've messed up. Any ideas welcome!
  6. The “Wild Dreams Beat 01” Apple Loops now plays back smoothly. Yes!
  7. Yes > Logic Pro / Key Comands / Edit find 'select previous region/cell/event of same type/number' and create your own keystroke , I use shift + [ find 'select next region/cell/event of same type/number' and create your own keystroke, I use shift + ]
  8. Aren't you confusing Control-Shift-dragging with some other tool? I don't remember that tool ever working like a grab hand tool. I used to call it the "surf" tool because the tiniest movement makes your content "surf" (scroll) in whatever direction you're dragging. Here's a post I made about it back in 2005! —> Navigating with a Scroll-wheel mouse, Surfing without! Although I do make note of a change in Logic Pro 7.1. Perhaps that's what you meant? I'm sure you're right. I only found the tool a couple of years ago and I seem to remember it functioning like a grab hand tool (because I navigate constantly in Photoshop/Illustrator with that tool so it's badly missed in Logic) but I may well have remembered wrong. I was convinced that after I upgraded 10.5 that the tool went bonkers, but perhaps it was bonkers all along! To be honest it's virtually useless as-is (surfing tool) and it would be very helpful it it was a plain old grabber!
  9. This tool used to work as expected (like the grab 'hand tool' in photoshop or illustrator) but a few updates ago it went bonkers and now it doesn't work at all - for the reasons you state. Really annoying
  10. Menu - Navigate / Play button options You'll see various options here, I set mine to 'play from last locate position' It won't be quite the behaviour you're describing, but it might be useful for you.
  11. Don't know whether it's my new MacBook 16 running Catalina or Logic 10.5 - but hooking up all my outboard yesterday I was pleasantly surprised to find I don't have to jump through hoops to get it to print in sync to an audio track. Previously I had to bring the hardware back on a send-aux, and then route aux this to another aux - and then print (record) from that aux. If I didn't do that then the print was out of sync. Now it behaves as expected - bring the I/o hardware back on an aux and record to an audio track. Anyone noticed this?
  12. If I’m in the window of most instruments (Alchemy, sampler etc) then the keyboard playback remains unaffected - eg space bar to play / stop BUT in a few plugins (eg Massive X) it hogs the keyboard, so that pressing space bar while in the plugin window won’t do anything. You have to physically click out of the instrument window to make the space bar work for playback again. Any idea why some plugins do this and if there is a solution? Is it bad coding from the plugin manufacturer?
  13. It seems that Apple/Logic are simply unable to fix this bug. Whatever is causing it they must find that if you fix one thing it breaks another and so the only option is to ignore it and hope most people never notice. It has been talked about as a critical bug for years now, they fixed hundreds of issues with 10.5 and not this. So that seems to be that. I tried it out again last night automating High Pass EQ cutoffs in time with 1/8th notes. Works fine but then put a high latency plug on the same channel strip after the EQ and the automation goes out of time. I know Logic devs must be under NDAs but surely someone must be able to get someone to comment off the record about this? Do they work from Area 51?
  14. You can easily split it, just drop the video into the arrange. You need to unlock the audio. (Not for DVD’s as already mentioned)
