  1. You got there before me! So you've built a RAM space, addressing scheme and I/O controls. I guess whip up an ALU some backing store and a programming language and bingo a CPU built inside Logic!
  2. Hey Ronit, would you be willing to post some sounds on request - I wanna capture that yodelling quality when you go up to falsetto like 2:52 in through the night
  3. Its pretty easy to get a pedal guitar sound - for instance just use the the EXS24 twangy electric, the attack is a little harsh but you pull that back using the compressor/limiter and roll off some of the top end and you'll get close. The problem is a pedal steel only sounds like a pedal steel because of the way its played. So my bests tip is to play the rough setup above. Don't worry about a perfect sound and and practice using the pitch bender to slide up to. If you can play it the way you want you can tweak the sound to taste.
  4. My guess is that your problem lies in Apple Audio Midi Setup / Midi Studio. When I upgraded some of my setup was wiped.
  5. Note - the audio interface should have its own port. Plug everything else into the hub. You can free up an actual physical port by using a firewire audio interface or even a thunderbolt interface - and you can thunderbolt docking stations. This would only be necessary if the HUB solution is not powerful enough.
  6. There are three reasons for unexpected chorus/flanging: 1/ You have am audio effect in the chain. Maybe on the instrument on the channel strip but may be on the output, bus or group strips. 2/ You have a midi effect in the chain. This could be the modulator plug in or it could be in the environment, for instance this could be GM Mixer or if you use an external midi instrument has chorus controls 3/ And finally classic phasing/flanging occurs when you double up a track - if you accidentally have two tracks with the same sound OR if you output a parallel path which are slightly out of phase Have a look - I'm sure there are other reasons but I'd bet 90% of the time its one of the above. Good Luck
  7. I know its and old thread, but I am just now getting this collection, using Sitesucker. You can configure to download every .aiff file on the site in one click. Then just sit back.
  8. You had me up the point you said Life in the Fast Lane was one of the best songs ever written This is genius, well done.
  9. For those that download Logic 9 form the Appstore. There may be easier ways, but here is what I did. Download Pacifist if you don't have it - its shareware Insert your "Logic Studio Install" disk Run Pacifist it and click Open Package, select you "Logic Studio" disk and "install Logic Studio" Package. It will ask to insert the Logic Studio Install Disk and three Audio Content disk. Just follow the instructions. When complete look inside the Package Contents (below). Drag "05 Legacy Spaces" to "~/Library/Audio/Impulse Responses/" And Bob's your uncle.
  10. So I think I just discovered one of the problems of downloading Logic 9 from the App store - no legacy content. I did a straight upgrade from 8. If anyone has done an appstore upgrade and knows a way around this, please let me know. (otherwise I'll have a crack at extracting the appropriate files from the Logic 8 install disks)
  11. OK - as simple as I can make it. To run Logic pro 8 under Lion, copy the attached file to your applications directory and then if you wish drag to you dock. (All credit to bennyabc) That's it. RunLogic.app.zip
