  1. Hi Miguelli If I understand you - you want a 12/8 dotted quarter to become a 4/4 quarter feel but keep original tempo feel? This implies conversion into triplets. If you are dealing only with MIDI I would suggest saving all midi data as a midi export. Copy your project and set the copy to 2/3 tempo of 130BPM - 86.6666 with time signature of 4/4. Import midi file and in MIDI transform divide speed and position by 3 then multiply by 2. Then drag all midi back to original start position. Samples attached. 12_8.zip 4_4 86.zip
  2. @Jordi Torres Thanks heaps - very generous of your professional time. Really cool - just plugged your script into a template and works like a dream.
  3. Hi Jordie Torres That sounds very generous and helpful! OS 10.14.6 LPX 10.4.6
  4. Hi @ Jordi Torres Your script sounds incredibly useful. Downloaded your file but my LOGIC 10.4 is giving an error message that the file is not compatible with my program version. Any possibility of getting a project version for older LOGIC prgs?
  5. Hi All My searches have found no answer for this and I might be just misunderstanding something simple! Setting up a template and I have a number of grouped Channel Strips with Surround output. In Group Settings only 'Pan' - 'Stereo Out /Stereo Pan ✔︎' and 'Stereo Out /Balance ✔︎' get linked but not 'Stereo Out /Binaural ✔︎' or 'Surround'. Is there any way to group for 'Surround' edits? Thanks for any ideas that can clarify this for me.
  6. It can get confusing with Note+Octave naming conventions not being directly tied to the MIDI Spec. MIDI Note #60 could sound any played note depending on what settings/tunings/offsets you have on an instrument patch. I always have to double check as I have multiple outboard instruments that all have different names for Middle C, most usually C3 or C4. The OP will need to determine what their Middle C note is named by LOGIC and use that name in the 'FLIP' Transform. LOGIC sees my KORG keyboard C4 as MIDI #60 (which aligns with Scientific Pitch Notation, or approx. 261 Hz in A440 Tuning).
  7. Apologies David - I did't mean to sound like I was correcting you! I had been unclear with my original answer - and my pic only showed the last note offset data - which was no help. I was fixing my original answer for the OP that the inversion needs to happen on MIDI Note #60 for Middle C.
  8. The result depends on two different meanings - Middle C is MIDI 60, but Middle C might be C3 or C4 etc as naming conventions are not always the same with instruments. The OP wanted a Middle C inversion. David's approach with 'Flip' is much simpler to implement than my mapping. I did set my transform map to invert around MIDI 60. But my example was from a keyboard I have that uses C4 as Middle C. So the Transform Map inverts around C4 as seen in the Monitor objects.
  9. While there may be easy ways to do this - if you want to use an Environment Transform - One way would be to map notes to invert pitch:
  10. I have just loaded an empty project set at 4/4 and start position 1.1.1.1 With piano roll and Tracks windows Snap set to Bar, Snap to bar doesn't work. The playhead jumps to nearest 1/4 division closest to mouse cursor most times, other times it jumps to mouse cursor (very short click). Click-Hold works to pull playhead to mouse cursor.
  11. You need to untick Auto-Punch in the Control Bar to close the Auto-Punch ruler. If the icon is not visible, add it to the Control Bar: go to main menu 'View>Customise Control Bar and Display>Modes and Functions: Auto Punch [Select]. However, you can't remove Auto Punch ruler and still have an auto punch selection. Auto Punch needs the ruler for a Selection to work.
  12. Hi Music Spirit You are welcome and I fully agree this can be very time consuming - cut and paste or a project with multiple score workarounds already saved are two of my ways to speed it up. While I have found over the years ways to do many things with Notator/Logic score objects - I have found that you need to put some time into designing workarounds for many quirky presentation needs. These days I just print a more minimal sheet and add the required extra touches by hand - I probably should have moved to something like Sibelius - but I've been tinkering in Notator/Logic a long time and am getting too old to change horses. I can usually get it to display most things I need in a score.
  13. As far as I know there is no easy way to directly edit triplet bracket direction behaviour apart from the available four: Auto, Up, Down, Hide. The bracket angle depends on location of triplet elements on the staff. Your angled triplet bracket ends look like they are anchored on a high G and the semi-quaver rest. I can create a non-angle like this using elements from the part-box. A bit of a pain if you have lots to do. I needed to: open triplet attributes and hide bracket unbeam the notes to bring triplet number vertical alignment close to other triplet number then draw new left and right brackets. Another option for these specific notes is to edit the triplet direction to DOWN placing it under the notes. The DOWN triplet bracket can still be angled depending on where on the stave elements are placed within a triplet.
  14. Hi Triplets The website says Big Sur compatible... It's weighing in $1000 cheaper than other interfaces - I'm just wondering where the downside is... It appears to have enough outs ... I haven't found any info on how that works with 5.1... Any ideas? And difference between Claret and Scarlet models... which has $1000 price point difference...
  15. Hi Triplets, Jim Thanks for the prompt advice - I've been researching the various interfaces you both indicated... There are so many models. 4 XLR with phantom, 8 x mono jack in / 5.1 out and head set monitoring is all I need. And integration with LOGIC / Big Sur / M1 MAC moving forward. For budget - I've settled on under $2k (AUST.) UA looked good but is out of my budget range - Looking at Fireface and MOTU - they seem to be on USB 2 ?? I've already got an overcrowded USB>Thunderbolt hub for my 11 year old Mac Book. Focusrite Scarlet 18i20 ? Would this do the job? It is so much less expensive than the rest and claims to be Big Sur compatible? What's the catch... What pitfalls do I need to be aware of.. Your advice is really appreciated.
