  1. look in the folder for that particular song. i've experienced the same thing. if you want to save it to use it in other songs later, then drag everything into the correct EXS24 folders. if you want it only for that song, just leave it in the project folder.
  2. i would be afraid to do that. maybe put them in the audio folder for that song, then re-scan the song for unused files and then delete. i could be paranoid, but so be it.
  3. Tried the Numbers Game demo project. It seemed to work fine. J. thanks. I just moved from snow leopard to mountain lion, and am still getting my stuff up to speed with mountain lion; thinking I may as well do this update since I don't have anything set in stone yet. that way I don't have to worry about it later. maybe I'll just clone my system and have a go at it.
  4. I finally got a new computer. problem is my Presonus Firebox seems to not be supported with Mountain Lion. what interfaces are you guys using with Mountain Lion? I'm just a hobbyist so I don't need (can't afford) a super great interface (apogee is out of the picture right now). I'm coming up a blank on Google searches except for a Tascam interface. thanks.
  5. no need for another delay. Logics Tape Delay is a great delay. I have a ton of other delays and always end up using Logics. David covered it pretty well up above; just experiment. Try putting it on a send as well, that way you can really crank it up if you want and bring it back down smoothly. Mute the audio sometimes and let the delay do it's thing. Put a bit of distortion on a send to the delay. Put some spring reverb after the delay. just have fun. delay is my favorite effect. i could play with it for days on end and never get bored.
  6. i've had the same thing happen with soundfonts that I recently purchased (as well as oddball soundfonts I found online). I ended up getting a freeware soundfont player and they worked fine. but since I have to load something else that frankly is a bit lackluster, I end up never using them. i'll probably just toss the whole lot out soon.
  7. my daughter will be 6 in March and I just realized that I haven't changed the strings on my guitars or bass since she was born.
  8. that sampling idea is a good idea. thanks for the free Electronic Detritus samples BTW. ok, sorry: back to our regularly scheduled thread.
  9. holy crap that is hilarious. I think I will be buying many xmas gifts there this year.
  10. latency issue maybe. try changing the buffer size. I have a problem like that when the buffer is set wrong, sounds exactly as you are describing it.
  11. i got it for my ipad and haven't installed it yet. when you say it works great for the basic logic functions does that mean basic transport bar stuff (play, rewind, record, etc..)? I was actually hoping to use it more for automation of synths and effects. is it lacking in this area? or do people just choose to use it in different ways. I also seem to be having trouble finding install instructions. all of the tutorials I have found seem to be for a version before Logic updated to work with TouchOSC. any good tutorials anyone know of? Thanks in advance.
  12. hi everyone. a friend has a bunch of vocal samples that he made into a free Kontakt instrument, and I offered to make them into EXS instruments for him so he could offer those as well. I just loaded the samples into EXS (loaded multiple samples just like any other time) and when I play them back they are really distorted (like a fuzz box). they are not distorted when I play them out of Logic in Preview. They are 32 bit files and I am wondering if that is the issue. Tried loading some other samples I have in the same fashion and everything else works great, so I have narrowed it down to the audio files. Any ideas on this one? Thanks in advance. EDIT: okay, after more research I find that Logic can't work with 32 bit audio. anyone know of a way to convert all of these to 24 bit (or even 16 bit)? I downloaded Audacity to try, but the idea of loading and exporting all of those samples 1 by 1 was not appealing at all.
