  1. Here's a snippet from a work in progress, the aim of which is to shift between genres as seamlessly as possible.. I'd love to know what people think. Bear in mind WIP Snippet 1 by Soul in Slumber
  2. Here's a track I built around a small part of jam I had with some mates, principally I think its got potential.. but I'm not sure if the current arrangement gets a bit irritating... there's a lot of strings I'd like to know what people think, and if there are any suggestions for improvement, my ears are a bit dead to it now Cheers Freedom Reprise by Soul in Slumber
  3. Good call on this thread Have a good christmas!
  4. This is a really interesting track, I like it a lot. I'm no professional, pretty much in the same boat as you, but these are MY first impressions.. The chorus has a lot of potential, but right now I think you could utilize the space within the stereo image a bit better.. experiment a little with it, maybe bringing the female vocals a bit wider? and the drums up a bit for the chorus - or even layer another sound over the top - something to give them a bit more presence. Unusual, and unique song though.. keep it up!

I agree, it looks terrible, but the thing is I've barely even gone into the basics on the mix.. just a gentle Multiband compression (see attachment..) The only thing I can think that's causing that wave structure is the bass.. which basically has no dynamic range what-so-ever.. Perhaps you have a better idea? Singing wise, I always like to get people to bring their own touch to a song, so preferably improvised.. I could however write a melody if necessary

Here's a tune I started work on the other day, it's arranged for a singer - which I'm yet to find! - But would love to hear some thoughts on potential improvements if anyone has some.. If anyone's a singer and interested in laying down some vocals, I'm always interested to hear about it!
  7. Thanks to whoever it was who left some feedback, but on listening to the track I realized that I must have uploaded the wrong file initially, so the post above is edited with the correct link!
  8. Hi, I'm looking for a book that covers the fundamentals to synthesis sound design, has anyone got any recommendations?
  9. Here's a track I recently put together, I'm still fairly new to the whole mix down side of things so would love to get some feedback. Thanks
  10. I'm sure this must be possible, but I cant seem to bring up an aux track in the arrange window, in order to automate my LP/HP filters on the bus.. Can anyone help?
  11. Hi, I'm wondering if anyone who is familiar with BFD2 knows if there is a way to send individual aux tracks from the BFD2 mixer into an individual aux track in Logic. Basically I want to be able to apply certain effects available in Logic, on BFD2's kick aux only (currently I can only route the BFD2 master onto 1 Logic track) and on a separate Logic track, apply different effects to the snare aux in BFD2 Hope this makes sense Rob
  12. I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't seem to find anything directly related to what I wanted to do... My aim here is to set up 2 x keyboards and and MPD running on 3 separate tracks with 3 separate plug ins (in Logic 9). Each keyboard and the MPD are running directly into a USB hub, so first question, is this the best set up? Or would it be better to run Keyboard 1 ---> Keyboard 2 ---> Motu Ultralite and meanwhile MPD in the USB hub? And how would I go about setting up the environment so this works successfully, and all instruments can be played simultaneously? Thanks for your help Rob
  13. Fantastic guys, thanks I will most certainly check them out!
