  1. Howdy, I have just mixed a song and have a question or two. I have my output fader at -8.0 so the signal stays at the desired -3.0 to -6.0 db for mastering. Obviously when I put it into a playlist in itunes to compare them to other mixes the song is at a really low level against the other mastered tracks (Beck, Stones,Beach Boys, Eminem) I used for the comparison. My questions are, is the -8.0 output level to low, and how much will mastering help it compete against the other tracks I use for the comparison? Thanks for your help. Snow.

    Key Commands

Hey guys! Here is my problem. I am currently doing a Logic Pro course and the computers are always set to default to the factory settings after use. At home I have my Logic key commands set up to my liking which I wish to use at school. If I were to set them on the schools computer I would have to do it every time I used the bloody thing. Very poor work flow. My question is, how would I import my key commands before using the schools computer each time I use it. Is it possible? Thanks Snow
  4. Hi , I recently discovered the brilliance of Melodyne. I have 'tuned' the section of a vocal that needed it and now I want to 'print' it to a new track so I can remove the melodyne plug in. Is the best way to send the audio via a bus and set the new tracks input to this bus or are there other ways that you guys do this? Thanks Snow
  5. Hi, My friends and I where discussing records that were recorded with 8 or less tracks. Would anyone want to post there fave 8 track albums here. That'd be great. Cheers Snow
  6. Hello, I have lost my midi note C4 !!! I use icon neutron 6 as my controller and all of a sudden I have lost C4. It isn't even registering in the in/out in the transport bar. Is there something that I have done inadvertently, or is the controller liable to just die ,one note at a time like it has with my C4. Thanks Snow. My mistake. A simple restart helped but it has done this before.
  7. Thanks Jordito. Just out of curiosity , why that file? I noticed it was a dream weaver file. Thanks again. Snow
  8. Howdy, A while ago I got an iphone app to operate logic using a remote control, one was itm midi lab and the other was pro transport. I got them to work but they are son clunky and just not need. I have uninstalled them from my iphone. Now when I open up logic, I get the below screen shot, it's only one click for it to vanish , but i would perfer not to have it at all. Can anyone help me to resolve this. Many thanks.
  9. Wonderful, Shift F, excellent. Now in these regions I have selected after the play head, I have written automation in. How can I move the automation along with the regions to my new desired position. Thanks again guys.
  10. Hi I know there is a key command for this , i just cant remember or find it. If I want to select all regions I press 'cmd A', however if I want to select all regions after the playhead, what is the command for this? Also is it possible to move all my automation with the regions I selected as well? Thanks
  11. Thanks Shiver and David. It's funny how obvious things are when they are pointed out to you. Using aux's for the one instrument track , thus saving valuable CPU by not having a instrument track for each drum is a big plus!! I understand my multi outputs with ultra beat, but after searching the manual for how to use the EX24 multi output, I am a bit lost.(I couldn't find how to do it) Can someone point me in the right direction with this please? Is it using aux's like UB , where do I assign these? I'm more tan happy to use the manual if only I could find the approprite section. Thanks again. Snow
  12. Hey all, When I use ultra beat, I like to have each drum in its own channel strip so I can eq etc seperately. I either use multi outs, or midi, seperate midi by notes' to achieve this. I was just wondering what other people think as to be their prefered way to do the same? Is it just a work flow thing , or are there advantages to one way over the other. I know with the seperate by notes way' you have to replicate the instrument track for each split region and then drag it into the new track so it will appear in the mixer window which can take time. But to assigning the aux's using multi out can take a bit of time too. Just curious to know what other people do. Thanks
