  1. Hmm, that may be the case. I think the Drum Kit Controller is suspect for that. I Just e-mailed their tech support posing the question. Thanks for taking a look at this Fred, much appreciated.
  2. Ugh... I used automation Output Volume which now achieves the result. Such an uphill learning with this stuff =)
  3. Noob question... I RTFM on crossfade and using Velocity X-Fade via Automation. Using the crossfade tool doesn't work (so far & no apple loops in project) as when cropping my selection over the track, nothing happens. With X-Fade Automation, I made my Fade points on the track, though when playing back the project... I don't hear the fade working and the points made should be very noticeable. What am I doing wrong? Thx.
  4. No, that's not expected behavior, and I can't reproduce it. There seems something special with your setup. Try to disable and re-enable the rec buttons and see if the behavior persists. (I've noticed that the tracks must be rec-armed after the channel assignment is done.) Hmm... I just tested it again and still have the same behavior. I have two midi ports or devices via USB... one midi controller is connected to the M-Audio Uno and the other midi controller is connected to the M-Audio Fast Track Pro.
  5. Something that I noticed when playing two controllers simultaneously is that: While having both software instrument tracks flagged for recording, if my channel 1 track was highlighted, I could play both controllers simultaneously real-time with no contamination of inputs. If I had my channel 2 track highlighted, controller for channel ID 1 would control both track's input, while channel 2 controller would only supply input to the channel 2 track. Is this "just me" or is this the expected behavior? If so, you might want to mention that in your tutorial. Cheers.
  6. I managed to get two MIDI controllers working properly with their assigned track... simultaneously. You probably already know this, but just in case... for assigning the MIDI Channel ID... you select it in the track properties which you can view by highlighting the track in question and selecting "Inspector". You might need to click on the "Inst " within it to expand the other attributes which Channel ID is located in. Refer to: http://www.logicprohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=35196 HTH.
  7. Ok, I have a solution that works for me, thanks to David's instructions on the thread: http://www.logicprohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=29331 Dave: "In Logic, go to Settings > Recording, and under "MIDI", select "Auto demix by channel if multitrack recording". I changed my Keyboard controller channel ID to 2. My Drunk Kit defaults to channel 1. I created two Software Instrument tracks. First one is my drum kit as channel 1 and the second track is the keyboard controller as channel 2. While having both software instrument tracks flagged for recording, if my channel 1 track was highlighted, I could play both controllers simultaneously real-time with no contamination of inputs. If I had my channel 2 track highlighted, controller for channel ID 1 would control both track's input, while channel 2 controller would only supply input to the channel 2 track. So for me, this is now perfect as I can jam realtime with two MIDI controllers with everything working properly, or even record a jam real-time.
  8. Hey all, I'm very new to all of this... I have two MIDI controllers: - MIDI Electric Drum Set connected to M-Audio USB Uno - MIDI Piano connected to M-Audio Fast Track Pro 4x4 I'm trying to figure out, with much frustration, on how I can monitor and / or record while the piano keyboard and electric drums are physically being played simultaneously, outputting their respected Software Instrument Assignment. Currently either MIDI hardware controller will take over the highlighted MIDI track's "input". I remember when using cubes 1.x years ago, it was easy to manage your audio and MIDI devices, is there such a utility an option in LE8 that I'm not seeing? I purchased this software for my iMac (Leopard) because I found out that Garage Band will only allow for one monitor / recording MIDI device use at one time, not two or more being played simultaneously. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
