  1. Turning the catch on or off does;t seem to make any difference, neither does changing the catch settings. I wonder, could anybody else check this out on a song they are working on: if a region is highlighted in the arrange window can you scroll to a different part of the song using the scroller along the bottom of the screen or the mouse? Thank you
  2. Something has just come up on a song I have been working on for some time, which has mulitple vocal takes. It's a new behaviour as far as I can tell although I think I remember it happening once before (though I don't remember how I fixed it ). If I have any region of any track selected (so that it is highlighted) I cannot freely scroll backwards or forwards in the arrange window. Instead the window snaps back so that you can see the highlighted region. Although not the end of the world it is annoying and is upsetting my workflow. Does anyone know If I might have inadvertently changed anything which may have caused this to happen, or is it a known intermittent bug? Many thanks for your help.......
  3. Hi Wilbur Which folder do we add these presets to? (e.g. .pst?) Thanks for posting this stuff!
  4. Actually I thought I had downloaded everything. Or I thought I had. I'll check again. It just seems odd though that the files seem to be there but many of them are silent and have no wave form. Any idea? Cheers
  5. Could anyone confirm whether the following Loops are available to Logic 9/Garageband users? Since moving OS, and computer I have discovered these, but they seem to be incomplete (please see above message) Many thanks for any advice. Macbook Pro 2.2 Ghz Intel Core i7 16Gb 100Mhz DDR3 ram OS X 10.9.5 Logic Pro 9.1.8 Metric Halo I/O 2882
  6. I recently updated to a new Macbook pro (OS10.9.5) from a 2007 imac running OS X 10.6.8. I'm using Logic Pro 9, and have done for the last few years. Now that I have installed Logic 9 into my new mac, downloaded additional content, and moved all the memory intensive content to an external hard drive, I find that a few things look a bit different: Channel strips settings are structured differently. For example I no longer see Jam Pack Symphony Orchestra sounds , but I have to access them through 'Shared Garageband settings on my Mac'. Is there any reason for this. Can I retrieve my old layout? I just knew where everything was......... Perhaps more importantly, I notice that Apple loops now incorporate the following categories: 01 Hip Hop 02 Electro House 03 Dubstep 04 Modern RnB 05 Tech House 06 Deep House 07 Chillwave Trouble is, that while all of the loops exist in .caf form on my hard drive, more than half of them don't play. The ones that don't play have no content, showing a negligible size (eg 8KB) as opposed to the ones which do play, which tend to be above 200Kb. An examination of the wave form of these non playing files show that nothing is there! Does anyone know what has gone wrong, and/or whether I can get the missing files from anywhere? I also have no idea where these have come from in my migration from one computer/operating system to another....... If anyone could help I would much appreciate it.
  7. Thank you Mattside, your response is very much appreciated! How old is your Macbook pro? Do you think that moving on to OS X 10.10 will change anything? Are you delaying this for a reason? All best
  8. Hi I am currently using a late 2007 Imac 2Ghz core 2, 4Gb, 10.6.8, but have sitting in the wings a spanking new 15"macbook pro, 16Gb quad core, 256Gb etc. I haven't transferred over yet because I am in the middle of a big project and don't have the time (despite the fact that I have to employ work-arounds to make my fairly sizable projects work). However, I hope to very soon, and I am looking to buy either one or two screens and a Henge dock so that I can use the Macbook like a desktop, but have the option of using it as part of a portable recording studio when i need to. Because I do quite a bit of scoring, I value screen space, hence the thought that I might buy two decent sized screens rather than one. (if anyone has any views on using two screens in logic I would value that). The 27" Apple Thunderbolt screen, is too expensive, and despite being a great device, still uses USB 2 in its hub facility. I have been looking at Dell screens, particularly the Dell Ultrasharp U2415 which is 16:10, the Dell U2412M which is also 16:10 but uses USB2 tech but is cheaper, and the Dell U2414H, which is 16:9 and is also relatively cheap. All of these screens seem to get great reviews, some people preferring the 16:10 size because it give a couple of extra inches. However, I read somewhere on a forum that while Logic 9 works well on 16:10, Logic X (which I don't yet have, but will probably get at some point) is not so well optimized for it. One person on another forum said it cut of the left hand side of his arrange window which made working in full screen mode very awkward. Could it be that Apple have now fixed this? If anybody could confirm that this remains a problem this will help me make up my mind about which way to go. I would also appreciate any input on 1x27" vs 2x24" set ups. Thank you!
  9. I have logic studio on an intel imac and metric halo audio interface and m audio 4x4 midi interface. I have returned to a song that I was recording last year using both midi instruments and software instruments. I am finding that there is a noticeable delay between the audio and the midi instruments. the audio instruments are sounding behind the outboard midi instruments. can anyone give any guidance as to how to easily correct this in the settings? Most of the notes are quantized so it is not a question if dodgy playing... thanks
  10. Every time I edit an apple loop in the apple loops utility I get this message: The file.......could not be saved. Check the destination disk's available space and try again or choose a different location. Can't seem to resolve this, despite the fact that the destination disk has bags of space. Any suggestions? Thanks Soundstrue
  11. Thanks......I found the transposition control once i turned Flex off. I put it up a semitone and then hey-presto. it does seem odd though, that the key should shift back to the original key when Flex is on. Thanks once again.
  12. There is no transposition option in the parameter box of blue apple loops.
  13. I am new to Logic 9 having come from 7.1. I am also new to using apple loops and the flex tool. In the song I am working in I recorded a midi part on a software instrument in the key of C sharp. I have added a blue audio loop to the mix and because I have the tab in the loop browser set to song key the loop plays back in the key of C sharp rather than in it's original key of C. All fine so far. I then went to time stretch a part of the loop using the flex tool and flex markers. I used the monophonic setting. BUT ....and this is the thing I can't resolve. the loop plays back in it's time stretched form but back in it's original key of C. Is it possible to use the flex tool and maintain the key that the apple loop was imported in (in this case C sharp)? How do you do this? Hope someone can help with this!! Cheers Soundstrue
