  1. Audio regions should be transparent so you can see the grid at ALL times. This is a deal breaker. It is very hard to edit without this as you can't immediately be sure of what is going on. Every other major DAW has this: Pro Tools Cubase Reaper Ableton
  2. Thanks triplets, again this only works if you're trying to line up the start or end of the region as you can't see the grid underneath where it is already. Also it's hard to where a performance is rushing or where it's dragging as you can't see the grid in the arrange. You can see it if you turn on Flex Time but as far as I'm concerned you should be able to see the grid at all times. If you search "Transparent Regions Cubase 6" you can see the uproar when they broke this feature in the update from V5 to V6. Nearly everyone is having to work between the two versions as that feature is hard to work without. I didn't realise until I used Pro Tools how useful things like transparent regions and auto colorise tracks are.
  3. Thanks but what if you're trying to align a transient somewhere else in the region? I know you can change the anchor point but that just adds another step. Regions are transparent when in Flex mode but again that's 3 extra clicks. Surely there must be a way
  4. Is there any way to make regions in Logic transparent like in protools? I don't like not being able to see the grid beneath. It's much easier to fly audio regions around when you can see exactly where they're going.
  5. And yet there is no problem on my macbook. When I look at the EXS instrument with txt editor the samples point to the correct place.. hmm
  6. The EXS instruments are in the correct folder with the samples on my internal HD. The problem is when I open one I get the spinning wheel of doom and it takes around 30 seconds to load. These are dance drum instuments, nothing special. The strange thing is once i've opened an instrument i'll be able to open it with no problems from then on. A solution I suppose would be to spend 2 hours opening every instrument so I can use them in the future. That won't really help if I want to add to my collection later on. I've tried the Onyx solution and it didn't work.. I also tried re-indexing spotlight and that didn't work either. It seems my only option is to buy EXS24 manager, I really don't want to do that. help!
