To seasoned users the environment is something sacred but in my opinion most of us can do just fine without the whole concept. I'm trying to remember the last time I actually set something specific up in the environment that wasn't related to a midi function out of the box. I must admit the 'competition' has much, much friendlier concepts going (Ski, your statement reminds me very much of how protools works, where there aren't any environment object hidden behind the things we see in the mixer and arrange, WYSIWYG). Regarding all audio objects there isn't much to wish for other than. Instrument track, audio tracks, buses and auxes and the output objects. These can be streamlined considerably to the point where no environment is actually in place. This would mean a complete rewrite of the way logic handles this stuff now, but since we're at 9.x, surely a nice version 10 overhaul is a welcome gift (That I would gladly pay for). The whole point I'd like to make is that the audio engine is very outdated...
Oh well, it's all about the actual music in the end right!? (And the way to get there )
Cheers!
