  1. As a side-note: Studio One handles aliases (ghost copies) rather elegantly. In S1 every Alias is editable changing every iteration when you edit is. no warnings and no difference between the original and the ghost...
  2. I'm impressed! Kudos to the development team at apple! Hopefully the audio engine is up next for an overhaul! Cheers!
  3. Garageband has been updated 3 or 4 times since logic 9.1.6 came out, that includes an ipad version. I tried to befriend Gerhard Lengeling on linkedin but no go...Would have been nice to spam him about it It's indeed disproportional painfull to see other daw developers make beautifull products while we're in the dark. I've dedicated the last 14 years to Logic. Seriously getting mad typing about this now!
  4. If the playhead is out of screen and i use keycommands for zooming in or out it zooms to the playhead center. Can something be done about that? A preference maybe?
  5. Hi Ski, Well, I got this link via Google alert mailed to my inbox. I have a google alert configured for anything "logic pro x" related. So unfortunately I can't give you anything more. I'm surprised someone else managed to get the whole sentence and I'm quite disappointed about the release being after mountain lion...
  6. It's still there, just need authorization...
  7. Look what google gave me today: Logic Pro X Feature Set Apple Support Communities This discussion is to inform current Logic users on the upcoming new features in Logic Pro X First off the software will not be officially released to the ... https://discussions.apple.com/message/17667098 Can't get in though...
  8. Same here! Haven't had that bug since runing Logic in 64 bit. My best guess is that this is caused by low memory situations. Did you get low memory warnings?
  9. Logic is a steal...and thats that... Not too long ago just the MP3 option in Protools cost half of Logic Studio. I just wish that Logic would get the same kind of love from Apple as the other products. Sure, Logic has many features most of us will never use in their lifetime but some of the implementations of 'industry standard' features work in a very rudimentairy way and are not 2011 style at all. Apple did prove that they can do some serious programming with FCP X so let's hope some of that love will rub off on what we know a Logic Pro 9 today. One of the best examples out there IMO is Spectrafoo by MHlabs.com That App has always been a very stable and extremely fast example of using all resources available on a system. Even on my old trusty G4 it would fly. This can only mean that they didn't use much macro programming or standard routines to do simple tasks and ruin CPU cycles. Let's hope for something like that with Logic X or whatever is ahead of us! Cheers! ps: My footer is out of date
  10. Zooming in logic can be suited to your personal needs by setting up your own keycommands as well, there are a lot of options!
  11. got 62 NI massive's running with preset 1, playing simultaniously on my Nehalem 2.93. prefs set to 16 cores. That's impressive!
  12. Stranger things have been done but I wouldn't recommend it...make sure you're sounds are stereo before they go to the master bus. Why not only treat the sounds you want a little wider on a sepate bus before they go to the master bus?
  13. Wow, that looks like it's 2010!...Oh wait it is! Did you design that yourself? It looks great and I would love to know how to do that! Any chance you could explain? Thanks!
  14. Hi Dick! Things have come a long way since your VCS3 days haha! I think to move forward we need a survey. Quite the task but to service the novice and the seasoned user a well designed survey from apple would be the way to go. What exactly is it that makes Logic our preferred sequencer? Having used it for more than a decade shouldn't be an argument. It's the same in politics...Some people vote for the same party because they have always done so, without reassessment... Have you guys seen what Adobe is doing? I love their app designs, the same goes for Final Cut, it's awesome! Logic's got too much old stuff lingering under the hood and a big clean up would make things a lot smoother as well as more efficient on resources. For instance, when Logic created an Aux track, I really don't care what number it has, only which bus it receives from and where it routes to. I'm quite anal about those numbers and really don't like bus1 routed to aux9 where a reverb is inserted that in turn is routed to and effects summing group at aux 5...You see what I mean? Anyway, before we go in this direction (and hijack this tread haha) I'm going to make some more music now! See y'all later. Cheers from the Netherlands
  15. To seasoned users the environment is something sacred but in my opinion most of us can do just fine without the whole concept. I'm trying to remember the last time I actually set something specific up in the environment that wasn't related to a midi function out of the box. I must admit the 'competition' has much, much friendlier concepts going (Ski, your statement reminds me very much of how protools works, where there aren't any environment object hidden behind the things we see in the mixer and arrange, WYSIWYG). Regarding all audio objects there isn't much to wish for other than. Instrument track, audio tracks, buses and auxes and the output objects. These can be streamlined considerably to the point where no environment is actually in place. This would mean a complete rewrite of the way logic handles this stuff now, but since we're at 9.x, surely a nice version 10 overhaul is a welcome gift (That I would gladly pay for). The whole point I'd like to make is that the audio engine is very outdated... Oh well, it's all about the actual music in the end right!? (And the way to get there ) Cheers!
