  1. TC44 thanks for your reply. I have done that already though - no luck. It worked fine in Logic Studio 8 but for whatever reason the same approach doesn't yield the same result in Logic Studio 9 ? It's frustrating.
  2. I'm getting repeated "Logic Unexpectedly Crashed" error messages when I try to load a Logic Session file. I just worked on the session last night and this morning I can't open the same file ! (nothing has changed on the system - didn't even turn it off -stepped away for 10 hours) What's going on ? I've tried repairing disk permissions, restarted the system, opening an blank session first. etc... I have even tried the new feature "selective track import" and the same results, logic "unexpectedly crashes" after all the data has been imported. I also get an System Error message (see attachment) occasionally too. Have no idea what it means. I know the TDM and DAE with Logic has never been the best marriage but this is freaking ridiculous - there needs to be more stability here. I cannot get at my session period ! nothing works ! Please somebody tell they know a work-around ! system specs: mac pro 2.8 Ghz Quad Core Intel-Xeon 4 GB MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM RAM Logic Pro 9.0.2 Digid 96 i/o Protools 8.0.1 HD-2
  3. I've just upgraded to Logic Studio 9 from Logic Studio 8 My issue: Now my Digi TDM synth Indigo does not work properly. I can insert the plug in the channel strip but I get no sound outputting from it. When I insert an instance of the TDM ESX 24 on the same channel strip, no problem. In my previous Environment under Logic Studio 8 - the Indigo works properly (using the Audacity Works guide for setting up a TDM environment) I have tried creating new instruments on the Midi Environment page from scratch and routing them to the appropriate channel as indicated in this fourm "• Now the only way to trigger the Indigo is if our MIDI environment sees it. So let's open our MIDI environment (in the Arrange, hold down CONTROL and double-click a MIDI track), and under the "New" menu, select "Instrument". A little keyboard icon should appear. In the MIDI object parameter box (left-hand side of the window), under "Port", you should see "Indigo 1a". Select it. Name the object "Indigo". Close the environment window. " But currently this method is unsuccessful for me. Makes no sense why the TDM ESX 24 will will work but not the Indigo ? I've checked the Environment page and nothings is different (that I can see...) Any advice ? Thanks in advance. 6. This is a weird problem I just started running into. I loaded a current session I'm working on and was tweaking some settings in the Audio Preferences. I changed "Process Buffer Range to Large" to see if it would help me eliminate the frequent Core Audio Overload error message (it did not help at all). I've changed all the Audio Preference settings back to what they originally were. But for some strange reason whenever I load this particular session file , within a few bars of playback Logic will crash everytime !!! (this only happens with this one session, strange ...) The session file had no problems prior to my changing some of the Audio Preferences. I've tried loading the backup sessions, saving the session under a new name, turning off some CPU hungry plug-ins. But the problem persists. It wouldn't be so bad if the song I was working on sucked, but it's turning out to be something good and I want to finish it, so any suggestions or work-arounds would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  7. You saved my sanity once again ! Audio has returned. It's definitely weird why this problem has to occur in the first place. I consider myself someone who takes the time to maintain their system. Oh well, it's Murphy's Law in action. By the way, your book is great. (it's still in the mail but I know i'm gonna love it.)
  8. This problem just came out of nowhere ! When I boot logic and play back any session now, there is no audio all, instead there is a high pitched popping noise. Also I get the error message " Error while trying to synchronize Audio and Midi." I've checked the core audio settings, and tested to see if I can hear anything when switching to Built-in Audio (playback through my MacBook Pro speakers are fine...). Also, when I quite logic and try iTunes the problem goes away. This leads me to believe that it must be related to Logic I've also trashed my preferences and rebooted the machine several times, etc... I have no clue what may be the problem, I'm on location in Asia working on a project and this is the last thing I needed to happen. Any advice would be much appreciated. My specs are: MacBook Pro 2.33 intel core 2 duo Logic 8 motu 828 mkII OS 10.4.11 (latest drivers on everything)
  9. a bit confused by this issue, After installing Logic Studio, my Apple Loops from logic pro 7 sessions seem to have disapperared ??? well I know they're still on my HD's but Logic Studio has re-located them to the new folder structures. How can i re-link the newly updated Apple Loops library so that I can browse and audition them when working within Logic Pro 7 sessions ? I've also noticed this with EXs sample instruments too. Thanks in advance....
  10. I'm running logic studio on a MacBook Pro 2.33 ghz machine running 2 GB of Ram. I've noticed that I'm getting many more occurances of CoreAudio Overload messages while running sessions. On Logic Pro 7 things felt smoother. Anybody else feeling this way ? I'm thinking that it could be Ram issues - not enough ? or possibly that my Lacie External isn't fast enough to stream samples , but that's ridiculous right ? The Lacie runs as 7200 on a FireWire 800 connection. I'd like to get less Overload messages and more work done. Any possible suggestions to this issue. Thanks everybody.
  11. WOW ! .....WOW.....! and to think, i was buggin out about latency and CPU usage. WOW !
  12. Just wanted to solicit some answers regarding upping the RAM from 2 GB to 3GB on a MacBook with current config: 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duio 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM 120 GIG HD Could anyone tell me if this would make a noticable difference in performance or, just something nominal. Thanks.
  13. I'll have a look at waveburner. As for my final devliery method, it will most likely be a combination of physical CD's as well as direct delivery of the digital file. I was hoping for an "in-the-box' soution with Logic Pro. But I realized that i might need to look at other software to address this issue.
  14. Hi everyone. This is an ISRC code question. I realize that you can include the ISRC code in the meta data when bouncing under the mp3 feature in Logic Pro. My question is, if you only bouncing the high resolution audio file (i.e. aiff or wav, etc..) how can you include the ISRC info ???? I've been looking but can't seem to find the answer. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
