  1. the note in question is the lower auxiliary of A. doesn't matter re: tonality. the F natural after it is simply to strengthen the downward phrasing. the reason for the big G "pwr chd" is that too many "B"s give too much info. same in metal. and, as i hope we all know, it only take one 3rd of either type to sweeten or limit the possibilities. the less info the better harmonically, in this scenario. hi ski, how they hangin'. j.
  2. dk, thanks for responding. hope you are enjoying LP9. i will eventually change over or triple up with LP7-8-9, etc. i have a huge amount of LP5 files to sift through and don't want any losses. i'm NOT changing DAW. no doubt about that. atm, the new features in LP9 i don't need - yet. sooooo, thanks and say g'day to Ski 4 me. DR9.
  3. hi ski and guys, still on LP8 here, and never had such a great performance from this app. i am NOT however going to *cough* upgrade any further. and i'm warning ppl i know NOT to buy LP9. i won't support Apple if they won't support their loyal long time users, as most of us are. i simply cannot afford the time to deal with bugs and other things when what i use is working well. unfortunately, as our world become smaller and more corporate run we will enjoy less control over things that matter in our lives. best wishes to all.......... 4. hi, just don't give up, what ever else you may do. arts history is littered with failure, very few make it to the "big time" in any era of history. even less are remembered after they are gone. and some that are remembered would roll over in their graves if they knew what they were remembered for. as to making a living from music? DAW's have made it harder, as anyone with money can now call themselves a music producer, without the training, study and due paying. Beethoven was a god in his time, as music was the prominent art form. Now you have movies, tv, the net, games and so on, all competing for the punter's dollar. the last high water mark was the 50's and 60's, where the exploitation of electric instruments and the pioneering in recording occurred. thanks to bing crosby and les paul, amongst others. as for myself? i was a very popular guitarist here in Australia from '65 to '77. had major hits, over six, some of which are now certified classics. from '77 i started my own business based on this success. i never looked back after that, and have retired at 60. now i can write the music that i want to write. make no mistake, this is an unforgiving, merciless occupation. only the best survive. DR9.
  5. hi, as the world as we know it now, becomes more multi-national-ized, people like Mr Zappa will become ever more unique, if not more important to anyone who owns their own brain. DR9.
  6. hi guys, yep, apple would be in a sorry state without Mr Jobs. apple was going south until he returned. not that i'm a big fan of apple's policies, but Mr Jobs IS a pioneer in computing, and had done a lot for us artists. DR9.
  7. hi ski, yep, good ones all, with the nicest type of demo mode. the 1973 EQ is my fave. the rocket comp is very high standard as well. get 'em all. in addition, airwindows has some demos now, and heaps of freebies. some of these, i'm still scratchin' my head over though. DR.
  8. "Instead you should spend every dollar you intended to use on plug-ins on taking some masteclasses in mixing. That will improve your sound more than anything else. If you have money left spend it on acoustics and better monitoring." ________________________ oh yeah, truer words have never been spoken. +1. DR9.
  9. ya GOTTA stop inviting your friends over to play with your computer. hi dk, this your girlfriend? may i borrow here and the bong? DR9.
  10. sk i, DR9 here, merry everything and all that. but that movie - it would be funny if it weren't so serious. sh*t man that's not happenin' here. but then again, nothin' ever happens in australia anyway. david r.
  11. elgrizzle, never, ever be shy of something that touches your heart, as that's what music/art are all about. another from me, but it does depend on the version: Beethoven, 7th Symphony, 2nd movement. Beethoven, to me, was one of the first ppl to recognise how to use the concert hall's acoustic to show off his skills. I think, if alive today, he would be a heavy metal composer!!!! LOL. DR9.
  12. hi again, whilst i'm thinkin' 'bout it...... "Jill's America" from Sergio Leone's masterpiece, "Once Upon A Time In The West". the original soundtrack, of course. Music by Ennio Morricone. Performed by Edda Del'Orso. Magic Music. DR9.
  13. hi, off the top of my head? only one..... "Se Telephonando" written by Ennio Morricone. performed by Mina Mazzini. DR9.
  14. hi, 40hrs/week/yr=2080hrs x 40yrs = 83,200hrs. hope this qualifies me, or i've been doin' the wrong job!!!!! DR9.
  15. hi, what logic, and in most cases-other DAWs-can do is simply AMAZING. what isn't -SIMPLY AMAZING- is the intellect behind the creation of music in logic. that's you ppl. DR9.
