there are new options; happens with every new logic version. but how is it less of a DAW? it can still do everything it does right this second. having options does not mean having to use them. anyway, personally, am excited to check out the studio assistants....

apps like logic (and garageband) are for everyone, regardless of whether they're longtime 'pros', or new to music-making. and it's the quality of the work, the final outcome, that (i believe) trumps experience, 'professionalism'... or anything. at the end of the day, it's the music that matters (it's a day off, lol, am posting a lot...) 🤔

a corporation that strives for greater success rather than a smaller success? that success funds things like the logic team, and keeping logic affordable. and making hardware that is often extraordinary. anyway, not up for arguing whether capitalism is good or bad. but this is our system, and i want apple to do well... so that i can have great hardware and software to work with.

the OSes are always free. and everyone has their own list for what should be fixed. here, am doing all my work without issue. a live band EP, and a midi-based EP. no weirdness, crashes. everything is working beautifully. apple is, at the end of the day, a corporation, a business. should anyone be surprised that they focus on selling hardware? and how great is it that logic costs so little?... and offers so much....

until i try them, i have no issue with AI tools. i'll see what they can do. and my first note in a loop or phrase always plays (in 10.8.1, not always previously). but i prefer what logic can do versus how it looks (ps i like how it looks)

are your 3rd-party plugins up-to-date? have you considered updating logic to 10.8.1? what happens if you copy the project to your desktop? does that have the same issue? just some thoughts... -
so much whining for what is a free upgrade. and raise your hand if you've actually sat down with LP 11 and worked yet... i am getting all my work done in 10.8.1. if anything is better in 11 (or there's just new features and the rest feels the same as 10.8.1)... that's pretty great. my thoughts, of course
