  1. i was careful about levels when i started uploading music to streaming services in 2020. now i just trust my ears, and i get everything to about -0.01db (peak), and it pays off when i play back my work alongside others on spotify (where i live), or apple music (where, for some reason, my GF lives).
  2. i've been able to (so far) do all my work on an M2 air, so will be interesting to hear about your experience with a new air. outside of your concerns, let us know if you can, in fact, work as needed...
  3. i have several default templates. my main one is ready for everything i usually need: a track stack with 2 audio tracks for vocals (with the plugins i use, ie eq, comp, some voc tools)... all there, but inactive until i need them. and easy to duplicate tracks for more vocals. a track stack with one instance of all my main synths, and effects there but off. a track stack for drum plugins. etc... plus, auxes for common effects (several reverbs, delays). and settings! the mixer showing only what i want to see. tool settings, etc. it's a place to start, and everything is, of course, editable. but it makes starting new projects fun; i can spend time on the music, not on the setup...
  4. not sure (but someone else should be able to answer that). i haven't touched the logic mastering plugin since i first tried it out...
  5. i base my life around real-world experiences, actual specs, and some anecdotal moments, but not around youtube or tiktok videos... or really, much of what happens online...
  6. mt guess is that the logic mastering plugin will develop into something great down the line. for me, for now, it's... decent at best. meanwhile, there's several discussions about this on the forum, for example: logic vs ozone
  7. my M2 air is killing it (with both logic pro & final cut). my collab uses an M1 air. not seeing any performance 'loss' over her M1. & the M3 is just a step up...
  8. i can't give you what you want, but i stand by my comments. i earn my living with logic, and have worked with it since about 2009; a lot of pop music, electronica, some scoring work. and 97% of my plugins are 3rd-party (fabfilter, izotope, lots of synths, etc). and still that proves nothing; it's just my own humble experience. my main point is simply this: if you have issues, get help resolving them. nothing more, nothing less. and honestly... good luck, with all of it 👍
  9. i have never dumbed down my workflow to accomodate my computer; and, in 2024, i just do everything i need to do, and life goes on. and that doesn't suck. get help with your issues, or adapt. personally, i'd always choose 'get help'...
  10. lots of people have issues with logic; hence, this forum. and if you want help, there are good people here (better & smarter than i am). work with them, hear them out. there should be a reason for these issues, as many (most?) of us are not experiencing them. you shouldn't have to "figure out a workflow that dumbs things down enough for the computer". but do what you need to do (of course), and good luck with all of it 👍
  11. hmm, so all these years, professional logic users have been fooling themselves into thinking things are working well in the app? and we're not just talking about your specific issues? anyway, we'll let all logic users here (and everywhere) know about this, and am sure everyone will also move to another DAW. 🤔 but for now: are you working from a custom template? might be worth looking at that...
  12. logic itself gets installed on your mac's drive, but you can place it's content on an external, and, of course, record to that external. i just got a samsung T7, and it's amazing; fast, small, light ('small' & 'light' don't matter that much, just mentioning it).
  13. $200 is insanely-cheap for a pro DAW (just saying). stitched together how? are you saving as a package or a folder? need more details (including your OS & logic version); this is not standard behavior in logic, of course...
