  1. 48K is 48000 samples per second. what 'digital sawing' are you hearing at 48k??
  2. it's why i'm replacing my monitors-&-subwoofer setup; i keep making mixes with very-deep bass and no one hears the lowest notes. i've been travelling with iloud micros, and... love these things (just for what they are). listening to other artists music, i hear everything. and am making my own mixes so that i hear everything there as well. & where i regularly mix, am moving to new pro monitors and NO sub, with the clear idea that, if my mixes sound good there, they'll sound good everywhere. if i truly need to go deeper-bass... i have great headphones to check for that. everyone i know has a bluetooth speaker (sometimes really good ones tho), or listens on their tv soundbars, or headphones, earbuds, in the car... anyway, very few have high-end sound systems at home. so it goes. my goal is to blow everyone away, no matter where they listen.
  3. logic has a score editor? i thought that was the lyrics window for sumerians... 🤔
  4. works fine here (sonoma, M2). what version of logic? (& what version sonoma?) and does this happen with more than one project? (plus, as always, what @David Nahmani said)
  5. best to work out what you actually need. i was shopping for a 27" 4K, but went with a dell 24" 2K monitor, based on the desk space & my distance to the screen. i do run the monitor (& my air) at 'more space' in display settings. my focus is on the dell, and i can see everything on the main window without moving my head. & i keep the mixer on the air, below, also easy to see. i think need should always trump want, but then... i rarely follow that thinking when a cool new plugin comes out 🤣
  6. try resetting the SMC on your mac (and the nvram next if that doesn't help). am assuming you've rebooted? and does the sound cut if you disconnect the motu, and then open logic and play thru the imac speakers?
  7. i've backed up to CCC since forever, never had an issue. i'd contact bombich support, see if you can get it sorted it.
  8. have you run disk first aid? or try resetting the nvram, the SMC (google for your particular mac). backup before you do any of these things tho. hard to know what's happening from here, but you should be able to work...
  9. not at all. more power is always more power. just happy i can do my logic work (& some FCP work) on this air...
  10. so. i've been doing some of the most complex mixing i've ever done, while travelling (with the air and a pair of iloud micros). all audiofiles (fwiw), with lots of automation, plugins... even a bunch of (gasp!) izotope plugins, and the air has been amazing. no issues at all. it's a great time to be a logic/mac user...
  11. what's the instrument? is it polyphonic? is the sustain on the sound long enough that it should in fact continue? lots of variables, so we need more info....
  12. one of the reasons i like saving my work as packages. if i have an issue with a project, i can simply restore the backup file (from my backup drive 😉) and get right back to work. no need to sort out specific errant audio files... of course, if you save as a folder, you could just copy back the audio folder.. 🤔
  13. @David Nahmani's questions above are important. also... try a 'save as' with the basic file name to someplace like your mac desktop. then change or add something, try 'save' again. works? or same issue?
  14. what a lot of people do is.... bounce out your mix to stereo, then open a new logic project and master that audio. it's a lot less work for the mastering assistant/logic pro/your mac. otherwise, really... it should work. try rebooting your mac, then opening only logic, and try again. (the idea is the reboot, and to not have other apps running). and some of this could be because of your hardware specs as well. which mac? what are the specs? EDIT: you could also try just changing the buffer size in logic; ie, just for the mastering, make it 1024...
