  1. Are you referring to my post above about Guitar Rig? I'd read through the release notes and couldn't see it (just read them again in fact . . ) Where is it? I'd like to know if it relates to more than just GR .. .
  2. I had encountered a bug in 10.8.0 where if you had instanced Guitar Rig 6 in a project started in 10.7.9, and then opened the project in 10.8.0, Logic said "The plug-in named "Guitar Rig " isn't available on your system. Choose another plug-in, or quit Logic” and the instance is greyed out, even though instances of GR that were brought in before 10.7.9 loaded just fine. Anyway, it’s fixed in 10.8.1.
  3. Indeed this is a new bug with 10.7.8. "Broken Feature" report sent . .
  4. Found a bug, and it’s a tricky one if confirmed - if you attempt to "Paste Channel Strip Setting" on an aux fed from a send from an instrument (audio) track, it mistakenly pastes the channel strip setting to the instrument (or audio) track itself . . someone confirm, and I’ll write it up . .
  5. That makes sense. I’ll do some more digging, but like I say, something must have got messed up in the project I think. Thanks again . .
  6. Sorry- bad choice of words. By generic I meant the aux with a fresh bus that is created when tracks with differing assignments are combined in the summing stack, as opposed to the summing stack using the existing bus when all of the tracks feed that same bus.
  7. Thanks for looking into that for me Polaroid. I'm away from the studio, but loaded an empty project on my laptop and it appears to be working as expected, so I'm thinking maybe it was good ol' corrupted project. These were old files that I was revisiting, although only a couple of years old . . One other thing that the (possibly) corrupt file was doing was creating a VCA every time it created a "generic" summing stack (even if all the assignments were the same), to control all the tracks with differing assignments, which I suppose is a cool feature, although I haven't noticed it before. Is this a preference, or song setting, because it's not happening in this empty test project? Thanks again
  8. Hi - until a while back, if I wanted to make a summing stack from a bunch of tracks, and the outputs from all of the tracks, and any associated sends, were going to the same bus, Logic would recognize that and assign the output of the summing stack to that bus. Only if there were multiple differing output busses associated with the tracks in the stack would Logic assign a generic output to the stack. Now it seems to be ignoring if I have everything bussed to the same bus, and applying a generic output in every case. Is there a preference or song setting that can change this, or is it a change of behavior/bug? p.s. I’m stuck on Logic 10.7.4 because I’m still on Big Sur - I don’t suppose this has been changed in one of the recent updates?
  9. Choose File > New from Template and go to Demo Projects? Lil Nas X Montero Logic.png Thanks David -found it
  10. Normally they are in your open "Templates" window somewhere, I think... That's it! Thanks Des . .
  11. Can anyone point me to where I can find the new demo song "Montero"? It's not in my Demosongs folder and searching my drives is not coming up with anything - thanks!
  12. OK, did some more reading, and it seems that Apple Loops, impulse responses and third-party content have to stay on the system drive . . . https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208892
  13. Hi all - Some time ago I used Logic’s Sound Manager to relocate the Sound Library to a hard drive much larger than the SSD where my system resides . . all went fine. Now with L 10.7 I’ve downloaded all the new sounds, but they installed to the old default location on my SSD. The thing is, I can’t seem to figure out any method of moving them to the hard drive location where most of the sounds live. “Relocate Sound Library” doesn’t work - choosing the larger drive is not even an option because that has its status as "Current Sound Files Location" and is greyed out. I thought maybe I might have solved it by relocating to another large drive, and then back to the intended drive, but that doesn’t move the files from their location on the OS SSD. One final thing I tried was reinstalling the entire library, but that just seems to reinstall the files to where they were - old stuff on the big drive, new stuff on the SSD - anyone know how to solve this? Thanks!
  14. You know how at the top of the plugin selection tab, you get a lit of the most recent 5 plugins used? I would love a similar feature at the top of the quantize tab - a list of the 5 most recently used quantize values - when you start using a new quantize setting, you are often going to want to apply that setting to other regions, and it would be great to have it right there without having to search through every time . .
