  1. You have the right idea it's about trial and error, and learning to trust your ears and instinct. Also learning what each plugin does and how it affects the sound.
  2. i believe i still have mine if u want to buy it for 50
  3. It's all about eq'ing frequencies and letting frequencies share there own space. Each sound has a resting spot in the frequency spectrum, so keep what you want and lower what you don't need. Example a kick drum doesn't really need eq'ing in the higher ranges so you can dial that area down that way your vocals and music bed have more range to work with.
  4. To me Logic was easy to learn. It was easy mainly because I understood the concept of engineering and midi fairly well. I made the switch from Pro Tools to Logic so all I needed to learn was the language of how the program did things. My brother jumped right on it without any prior experience. Learning the different layers on the other hand took a lot longer.
  5. I have a RME Multiface, and HDSP PCI card I'm selling for 250. IF you live in the L.A. area and are interested, feel free to contact me at jonjohn2@gmail.com.
  6. There are ways to get the loop to follow tempo. A workaround would be to option click the end of the audio file so that is the proper length. Once you do that bounce the loop and make sure add to audio bin is checked before doing this. Once you done this just add the bounced file back to the session, and viola.
  7. I think you should have said you're very new to using a computer to do music. Not to be a jackass, but you have to be clear in what you're talking about, people on this forum come from all walks of life and genres. So while some might know what you mean, some might not. So it would behove you to be a little clearer. Also you can't ask someone how to do a certain style it would be better to ask how to get a certain piece of gear or software to react like you want it. That being said you wanna add the MPC template into your template. Look thru the forums you'll find something or do a search on it. You can't come in hear and ask someone to give you something so simple without first doing your homework. Especially when you asking the information for free my friend.
  8. Yes that is a problem, It works if the value is not off, or let's say with the volume or mute. But if you do want to automate a send and the value is off initially it seems to not move. But what I have found is it does move but it moves as if it's set 100ths of the position. you have to keep moving the mouse up until you notice the movement. That is very frustrating.
  9. Logic 9 is very worth it. It will shortern your workflow.
  10. I believe there are all ready discussions on this, but to answer you question. Yes, in fact much better than PT
  11. Groove Templates are made part of your Template not the program itself. Open up a file with the groove templates in it, they'll be there.
  12. I would assume that since all snow leapord is, is just a total intel version, meaning no PPC compatibility. That would not really be any major changes to the overall structure of the OS other than to remove UB and PPC. So assuming that, that is true, there would not be any reason to think that would be true. You can always buy a new hardrive and install Snow Leopard on that, thus keeping both versions, which is always a good idea. However I wouldn't make such a switch until all the bugs are worked out.
  13. You can do anything in Logic. And when I say anything, I mean anything. There are several ways to do it. You can make an apple loop, and import it into Stylus RMX if you have it and use the Chaos function. You can use a plug in called SuppaTrigga. There's also a plug in from Sugar Bytes called Effetrix. But basically it's in your editing. There's no magical or easy way of doing. It's takes some messing around. Most of all don't try and get it to sound perfect, that's the magic of it. Embrace the mistakes. By the way those of you who don't know what he's talking about. He's talking about the song Chopped and Screwed by TPain.
  14. Another option is efetrix from sugarbytes, gives you great control. The best plugin on the market. For those type of effects in my opinion.
  15. That has nothing to do with Logic, but with Core Audio.
