  1. aw, oh, erh, yes, I have a Frontier Design Alphatrack and when I disable it the mysterious note output stops. Thanks a lot - problem located, at least. best Uli
  2. Hi there I'm wondering why the control bar shows a permanent output of Midi Note C-2 with Velocity 0 even if the sequencer is stopped and even if I'm simply opening an empty project with no instruments in it whatsoever. I've tried disabling various chase and reset options, but no change. Not that it would have a negative audible effect but the display makes me somehow nervous. Any suggestions? I'm using Logic 10.0.6 on Macos 10.9.2 on a Mac Pro "early 2008". best Uli (screenshot of the socalled LCD display)
  3. Did you install or change anything in your setup during that time? yeah good question... nothing that I haven't reversed, I'm quite sure. BTW today I have a strong suspicion that the Vienna Instrument is the evildoer. I was able to reproduce like several successful boot ups with all plugins but the vienna in the components folder - and when I enabled the VI, that good old crash appeared again. best u
  4. it's crazy in a way, as it had been working for some weeks before.
  5. Hi ... I bring that thread back up, as I almost get insane with the very same problem, meanwhile with Logic Pro 9.1.5 and Macos 10.7.2. I have a song in 64 bit mode that hangs during launch, showing "searching....Channel EQ" but when I simply start the Logic application it says "searching....AUnetreceive", and I have to force quit. I had some success trashing all kinds of cashes and running Onyx, but the trouble keeps returning every day. And there's no easy quick fix (still I don't really know what exactly cures it, it seems to be a combination of things) 32 bit mode does the job but is no solution as I have much memory addressed. repairing permissions seems to fix a lot of stuff which is AU / core audio related. But doesn't fix the problem. so has anyone struggled through this and can tell me what to do? thanks Uli
  6. Hi as I'm struggling with this (again) at the moment, I'd like to ask: is anyone using a Matrox Triplehead2go with a MacPro (Early 2008) to get a third Monitor? Especially for that model, there seem to be very few solutions to get a 3rd picture out. Other great new solutions? best Uli
  7. to me it seems kontakt is reloading even more often with 9.1.1. at least not more seldomly.
  8. hi today I was opening a Logic 9.1. project after haveing updated to snow leopard... It contains an EXS program that used samples with a name too long for the old OS; logic somehow used to use fancy names like in this case "SteelGitLo e2.7.01 m#93BCE5.aif" while the file is in reality named "SteelGitLo e2.7.01 mf.wav" Now with the new os, it seems to be looking for just that fancy name, so the program won't find the samples. Has anyone a solution to convert my stuff so that it's usable with 10.6.x and 9.1? Thank you! Uli
  9. Hello just want to add my way of dealing with this is Vienna Ensemble Pro. works quite nicely and completely stable (opposed to Vienna Ensemble 2! Really, no crash in a month) I like the idea if more slim Logic project that I can change fastly while my basic setup stays open... at last for film scoring that's not a bad thing. So maybe I'll even use it even when tha 32 bi thing is over, don't know. Bounceing, latency stuff, even dragging the Midi from a Stylus that is open in Vienna Ensemble to the arrangement works just like it should. just my 50 cents uli
  10. I got so used to applying the command twice... you mean there could be a deeper sense in it?
  11. Well the regular melodyne contains melodyne bridge which *is* a plugin. works fine here with Logic9. uli
  12. after some tests I must say I am very very impressed with the concept and the performance, wow. Even not having used midi/audio over Ethernet yet. Some things really struck me, like the ability to drag the midi file of a stylus rmx from VE directly into the logic arrangement. Or the "preserve" option, and much more. So hopefully it remains as stable as it was so far.... thx again for the reports!
  13. hi this sounds quite good; my experiments with Vienna Ensemble 2 had also caused too many crashes (while other users reported it worked fine with them...), so I think I'll get the demo. Thanks! Uli
  14. Hi there has anyone already installed and running the new Vienna Ensemble Pro on the same Computer as Logic9 in order to take some memory load off Logic? And if so how is it? (i mean: how stable is it?) I'd really love to hear. Thanks Uli
